Discovered In Jubilee June

'tis the 21st of June pretty much everywhere in the world, and so that's the end of posting for this challenge! Thank you to everyone who took part, there are nine new Pros stories posted - hurrah!

Don't forget to contact The Hatstander if you'd like your story archived at The Hatstand, as that is no longer automatic.

Finally, there will as usual be a link on the User Info page, to all the Jubilee June fic, to make finding them easier if you want to come back to the challenge some time. The Dialj Bound (I know, I know, still way behind...) will be a big compilation one this time, so it won't be due until next January. (Heh - clever way to catch up, eh?)

And, um, do watch this space - there's a new Discovered in 1977 challenge to come... *g*

Jubilee fic - The Tale of a Tail

*raises wire, glances around warily and slides underneath*

Didn't realise this would be a bit long to post as one and was unsure how to post one thing successively, let alone two, so luckily Slanted Light has whacked this fic up for me somewhere else instead. Much thanks to her, and my prompt was these rather lovely bunny ladies right here (fourth pic down on the right)

*slides back under wire, walks off innocently and whistles*

Prosfic - On This Day In History

Finally, finally finally (although I make no promises for this one - except that it's finished!)! My prompt was a silver Silver Jubilee bus...

New Story: Keepsake by PFL

I came late to the Jubilee party, so this is short. Very short. And yet it still caused me trouble. *g* Tsk. I hope you all enjoy it!

My prompt was red, white and blue bunting.

Discovered In Jubilee June

So, [livejournal.com profile] magenta_blue completely nailed the first challenge of Discovered in 1977 by remembering that:

"…there is in existence a picture of myself as a particularly grumpy toddler at a Silver Jubilee street party with a Union Jack plastic hat strapped to my head. So I guess there were a ton of impromptu street parties on that day - 7 June, lots of road closures, people dragging their paste tables and chairs outside to join in, flag waving, stereos turned up full blast and aimed towards the front windows..."

Yes - 7th June 1977 was the Queen's Silver Jubilee, and somewhere, in the midst of it all, were Bodie, Doyle, CI5, and one grumpy toddler…

"…watching in bemusement as a Silver Capri screeches to a halt in front of the table of food, and two equally grumpy men jump out and continue the chase on foot - Bodie stopping just long enough to snag a sausage roll and wink…"

Or maybe they left town, or holed up indoors somewhere to get away from all the fuss and fury? Now what could two grown men do all day, on their own, in a small flat in London..?

This month's Discovered In 1977 challenge is to come up with some connection between the lads and the Queen's Silver Jubilee - and just to make it a bit more interesting, when you sign up below to join in, you'll be assigned an object that might have been seen on the day itself to include in your creation…

Feel like playing? Comment below to receive your "object", and then simply post your creation in the week 13th - 20th June!

And the links below may help with inspiration and atmosphere... )
