I actually managed to get on one of those little tour-things, a few years ago now, where it's just you and about a dozen other people allowed by special permission into the stones at sunrise before all the tourist stuff opens, and it really does make a difference, doesn't it? It's so... Colditzed-up otherwise... Then the archaeologist-bit of me jumps in and thinks "just as well", then the two bits get into a punch up and I fall over... :s
