Wonderful way to kick the whole thing off - I am so envious of your ability to speed write such layered, accomplished stories. I loved the set up - ingenious! And the subsequent visit to the zoo was a delight. Bodie's trivia felt very typical somehow - loved the bit about the squishy soldiers!

And that double talk dialogue between them at the end was perfect - laced with innuendo, it was so very, very them.

And this, for some reason, is my favourite image: The tapir wandered forward a few steps, eyes closed. Bodie watched with all the eagerness of an overgrown seven year old waiting to be entertained. When the animal went back to chewing its cud, he lost interest.
A throwaway moment maybe, but it just seems so completely in character for Bodie to react like this, and I found myself smiling and nodding as I read it. Well done - the whole thing is terrific fun!
