Envy! Yes, that worked beautifully--Cowley wondering what it was that Doyle had in him that made him overcome the difficulties. (And, being me, I can't help but think that it was because he had to be back on the job with Bodie.) And then you turned that near-disaster, all unknown to Cowley, into a new beginning for the lads! Very neat.
