Glad you didn't mind! Your writing is usually pretty free of Americanisms, so I hesitated to comment. And I actually had to stop and think what would have been used in an ambulance in those days. Nowadays, our ambulances use collapsible wheeled stretchers, what you would call gurneys but I think our medical services were behind yours on equipment and the stretchers would have been basically canvas stretched between two poles which would have been carried by the ambulancemen at that time. I remember thinking how primitive the interior of the ambulance in DIAG looked when I first re-watched the episode!
