Ooh! This was marvelous. I felt like I was there, which is, admittedly, a bit disturbing. *g* You managed a fair amount of tenderness in a story that wouldn't seem, on the surface, to allow for that sort of thing. I like the "different Doyle in the dark" that others have mentioned. I also really liked the bit about only one of them being allowed to be scared shitless at a time. I appreciate how they kept their wits about them in a situation that would have broken many less formidable blokes. Really, really nicely done. Thanks!
