I thoroughly enjoyed this. I thought Bodie's reactions to finding the sketchpad were in keeping with the character and his insecuritites too.
I loved the way Bodie comes to the understanding that he is actually in-love and I Loved the way you started and ended with door closing on that flat. Adding that feeling of going full circle. :)
I'm a sucker for angst, so do please write more like this.
