It's the expression on Doyle's face, on both their faces really, that's haunted me since I got hold of this illo. I hope I did it at least a little justice.

As for the costumes, I spent far too much time on the net looking sites on Regency and cavalier outfits. I love research, especially when it involves dressing men up to look very pretty indeed.
