It's only 8:30 pm in Pago Pago - heaps of time yet!
Bodie smiles and closes the door. Let Doyle have his fun, practice his Spanish with the haughty senorita. A lady like that eats men for breakfast, dinner and tea, tough CI5 agents no exception.
Bodie’s girls, whether they’re debs, schoolteachers or tarts, are more straightforward. He likes a nice shape, a cheerful (willing) disposition, no complications and a good time had by all.
After Anita’s done with him Doyle will return, rueful and heart-sore. And Bodie will sympathise, pour drinks down him, take him to bed and fuck the misery out of him.
Luckily Doyle falls in love a lot.

I love the last line. Practical Bodie! :-)

I can see them getting it on earlier - the knowing/lascivious looks they give each other lead me to believe something's going on - but I think the commitment, the exclusivity (although I don't necessarily believe in that so much), the mutual fidelity, comes later.
If Anita wasn't Doyle's last amour, she was close to!

I love a knowing Bodie like this
You know, I think Doyle does too. He's just not ready to admit it yet. Not even to himself.

Thank you.
And thanks for sharing this with us. :)

It's like you say up there...sometimes they need to be beaten about the head a bit before they realize. I can read lots of scenarios, but my favorites are those in which they're getting it on (read: fucking *g*) very early, but the commitment, etc., don't come until later - takes them a while to see/accept/come to terms with that - admit it to themselves, whatever. *That's* the conflict I like to read, the issue I see - not them getting together, but them getting *together*.
(You know, I wish we'd had a chance to talk about Redemption at ZCon! Darn! I think you need to come through DC on your way home! *g*)
Anyway, very nice - and I like the title you chose, too...

And of course the last line is perfect :)

The challenge came up while I was travelling in the US. Between time zones and the rigmarole of taxis, airport check-ins, flights and more taxis I had very little time to think about what to write. It was a real "on the hop" effort. But I'm a little proud of it *g*.

Oh, I like this. I like the contrast between Bodie and Doyle's girlfriends. I love the brilliant last line. And yes, that's exactly what I thought when I saw this episode!
