Ah yes, it took me a while to get into doing the links (or any of the other clever bits, either!). I'm not sure how LJ would cope with me copying bits of their own instructions so I'll just say how I found it which is to click on "My LJ" from the header and then scroll down to below where it shows you extracts from your friends page, there are FAQs. In my list, (don't know whether it's the same for everyone or whether LJ has worked out that I'm a relative beginner!) the third question shows you how to add a reference to another journal. The first one on how to hide part of an entry is quite useful for me, too 'cos I tend to go on a bit!
