Discovered in a Christmas Cracker

DiaChristmasCrackerBannerSmall

Well, this really is the closing post for our Discovered in a Christmas Cracker challenge - thank you so much to everyone who took part, whether creating or reading and commenting and encouraging all the people who posted! Our Pros community always looks so gorgeous over winter/Christmas/December-January/Solstice-time, because of all the people who join in and make it gorgeous - you're all brilliant!

I never really know whether anyone uses this but myself, but you'll now find that the calendar links to the posts of each person on their day - click on the 1st December, for instance, and you'll find [livejournal.com profile] murphybabe's contribution, click on the 2nd and you'll find [livejournal.com profile] moonlightmead's fic for the day (click on the 5th and you'll find all her posts for that day!). If you missed a day in the calendar, you can hover over it to see who posted, and click on it for those posts to come up.

You will also find a link to the entire challenge on the community User Information page (and to all previous challenges, of course... *g*), and you can search the community by author via the tag system too (there's an lj link at the top of the User Info page to all the comm tags) and you'll also find them here - clicking on an author's name will bring up everything they've contributed to the community (ignore tags that end in things like "cracker" or "tree", we use those to make the calendar and user info page links, of course!).

Last shot for the Xmas / New Year crackers

These are a few of the novel covers I intended to make (and eventually did, though very belatedly) because of technical dysfunctions (much worse than last year and too long to explain); I had to print old pictures, and print them on ordinary paper because my printer got sick with the special good quality photo paper I wanted to feed it. So I am afraid my recipients would better look at this post and print them themselves: that's a shame but I am now without a printer.

Discovered in a Christmas Cracker

It's the day after Twelfth Night, which means the end of another brilliant Winter/Christmas/Solstice/Let-there-be-light challenge - I hate this time of year!

But.... it turns out that there are a few wee crackers left in the box, so I thought maybe we could take this day for anyone and everyone who'd like to make an extra post for the calendar - something you thought of at the last minute, something you'd hoped to post but didn't quite manage it, a Happy New Pros-y Year message to everyone out there - just the last few pops and hats and wee toys to come...

So...

...would anyone like to pull one more cracker?

Discovered in a Christmas Cracker, January 5th

Hello Pros friends!

I planned to make some nice wallpapers this year, but I'm a bit uninspired at the moment.
But I hope you enjoy my offer for the Christmas Cracker a bit.

Feel free to change the icons or add text. In fact I think that some could use a good quote. ;-)
(And please apologize if some of the icons look like some already known. (Doyle in the winter coat? I'm not sure.))

A Happy 2013 for all of us! :-)

Discovered in a Christmas Cracker - Day 35!

First of all, an apology - if I'd known that I was going to present you all with a calendar then I would have chosen an earlier day to be 'my day'. I must admit that when I chose 'my day' I was more concerned with giving myself as much time as possible to come up with a decent contribution!

I hope therefore that you'll excuse the fact that four days of the New Year have already elapsed. You do still have more than three weeks to gaze upon the two gorgeous Mr Januarys, after all! *g*

So here we are - a Pros calendar for 2013, all ready for you to download. After that you can print it out, save it on your hard drive, or do generally unspeakable things with it. Whichever you choose, I hope you find these images of the lads inspiring enough to get you through whatever the year decides to throw at you.

Clicking HERE will take you to the downloadable calendar. Once you're there just click on each individual month, and then on the little cog in the bottom right corner to download.

It just remains for me now to wish everyone a happy, healthy and Pros-y 2013!

Happy New Year, all. In well under the wire, for possibly the first time in my life, but it's so long since I've posted that everything looks strange and different, so I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping all the coding still works the same.

Eek!!!

For some reason I thought my 'day' was the 3rd, but I have been informed it is, in fact, the 2nd...today! Apologies also for this being one of my older fic. Just havent been inspired, and Im sorry! Had, er, other things on my mind!!

Anyway, here it is.

And finally…

Bodie and Doyle, and yes, more snow! I am nothing if not consistent *g*

This one is also kind of a thank you to the smashing [livejournal.com profile] shooting2kill, who gave me a lovely surprise a couple of weeks ago. Pros fandom is full of the nicest people. ♥

I forgot to say - if anything I’ve done tickles your fancy, please help yourselves to it.

Happy New Year!

Sorry for the ill placed flakes; on the previewed pictures snow is falling, not static. And I'd like more various frames. Nothing's perfect in this lunacy world.

Discovered in a Christmas Cracker - Day 29, Part Two

Where did that pesky whistle go? I must have lost it - my prompt was 'plastic whistle'. I ended up with a lot of snow instead... *iz hopeless*

I expect you all saw [livejournal.com profile] gvenanne's fabulous Christmas gif?

http://gvenanne.livejournal.com/20643.html

Stunning or what? I could stare at that for a long time. Oh, wait... *g* Anyhow, that made me think about the lads in snowy London - thank you to gveanne for the inspiration.

Discovered in a Christmas Cracker - Day 29, Part One

My turn, my turn! *g*

It’s been lovely having little Pros-y gifts every day for the last month – Pros fandom is full of some of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever met. Not to mention blooming talented! So thank you to everyone.

I’ve got a couple of bits of artwork for you, which I’ll post later, but as that didn't seem quite enough, I’m going to begin today by cheating a tad. Hush *g*

Back in the summer, I wanted to do some quick artwork to try out a new font. As I was re-reading JoJo’s 'Love in a Cold Country' at the time, that’s what I played about with, and then used it when reccing the story in CI5HQ’s mini review challenge. So I thought I’d start today by repeating my post, because it’s a fabulous story, stuffed full with the things I love most about the lads and how they’re written in fandom. Plus – snow! Loads and loads of lovely white snow.

Discovered in a Christmas Cracker - Day 27

Happy Holidays, everyone!

For today's post, I bring you a tale of New Year's, of transitions, of choices and chances.(And I also forgot to give it a title, LOL.)

So here it is: Unititled Xmas Fic, 2012.

Enjoy! (If that's the right word.)

The Daily Xmas Cracker: The Core of the Matter

This is my due offerring for the Xmas Cracker challenge; hope my post is not too late for the early readers. I first intended to make several Pros animated "snow balls" and I did but I had forgotten it's not possible to connect to the pictures maker's site (which is needed) from my office computer , and since I have to work today... So I decided to give rather a story: short, slash and still unpublished.

Fandom: The Professionals (of course!)
Author: Francis Kerst
Genre: Slash
Pairing: Bodie/Cowley
Rating: Adult
Archive: Anywhere
Warning: It's undoubtedly and unredeemingly Bodie/Cowley and very slash indeed, though not graphic, or too much explicit. It's also quite sentimental, which is not my usual manner (the reason why I hadn't published it)..

Ideally, I should have done a Boxing Day story, but my change of mind was too late; no time left for that; So, just imagine it takes place today, only thirty two years ago.

The Core of the Matter
by Francis Kerst

In a rare move of abandon, Cowley rested his head on Bodie's shoulder. He looked exhausted. Age and pain showed cruelly on the craggy features.

Fine, thought Bodie, I can see what he'll be like when he's a hundred years old. Read more... )

This was an answer in a way, but not one he could welcome with a pure conscience.

I'd love to get feed-back, even from people who'd hate it
