Part 4

Here is another songvid, which was ispired by a song which went onto the Hatstand's advent calendar. I just had to make it. So thank you Hatstand.

It is a little on the melancholy side, and goes to show, timing is everything.

Enjoy!

*Sob*

*Sniffle*

'A little on the melancholy'. Hmmm, methinks you are the mistress of the understatement. That was one of the most unbelievably sad things I have ever seen. So moving and so utterly unhappy.

*Sob*

Really wonderful, every word and picture went together perfectly, but . . .

That was pretty much perfect. Wow. Okay, yes, it needs a story to fix it, but...wow. *g* I really liked that. Yeah, a little on the melancholy side! But gorgeous with it--such yearning, and...passion underneath that. Poor Doyle!

I'm really useless at commenting on stuff like this--the vid is so effective at evoking just that sense of melancholy, edging towards despair. Thank you! That is a beautiful vid.

Oh! So sad. But beautiful. I loved it (I'm a sucker for melancholy). And the clips are perfect. I'll just tell myself he's got the wrong end of the stick and it'll all be resolved in time *g*. Thank you so much.

Why don't you go ahead and stomp all over my heart as long as it's lying bleeding on the floor? ::sob:: Heartbreaking but brilliantly done. Thank you (I think!)

Oh, that was like fic! Beautiful and melancholy and clearly needing a sequel! I loved the way it ended there actually - I like melancholy and sad endings sometimes - you get to make them happy in your head *g* And I really liked the (again I'm no vid-person!) but the beat of the music and the clips together. And of course seeing Ray in bed is never a hardship... Thank you!

OMG, that's a wonderful vid. Exactly what I like - when a vid tells a story. Brilliant editing. That goes into my faves folder.

Terrific! I had to create a new icon just for this.

I love the way you used the clips to tell a completely new story. Poor Doyle! Even if he was a bit of a stalker-Doyle. ;-) Every look, every glance meant something different than it meant in the show. Very, very cool!

And I'll add my voice to the chorus asking for a sequel. We got Doyle's POV, now what about Bodie? Is he utterly clueless? Because I got the feeling he might have some idea what was going on...

Loved it!

Sad and beautiful. Love this; really love this.
Stunning winter Ray. Happy ending sequel??? Bodie's story sequel??? Say yes please, because if not...
Warning! Very bad fic writer: "our stunning winter Ray opened old Bodie's CI5 flat door. He didn't remember that Bodie's finally moved with him because a evil and ill-intentioned snowflake hit him on the head. After discovering in bed the boring straight couple living now in ex Bodie's flat he realized that his love was waiting (naked) at their home. He left the building and drove back home" ;)

Oh, I loved how you edited those scenes together to make your own story! Especially the scenes from "When the Heat Cools Off." Yes, those are scenes I can never get enough of. :-)

And great choice of song! And very good job matching visuals to the music!

(I don't know if you care about this sort of thing, but there should be an apostrophe in "Winter's" and also in "Season's.")

Slightly sad ending but we know Bodie doesn't care about the bird. Ever. His one true love is Doyle. He'll come around, I know.

*gulp*

Poor Ray. He loves his Bodie so much - surely Bodie knows?

which is my way of hinting that I'd love a sequel too...

Beautiful vid, Mel. Being the old fart that I am I have to admit that I didn't know the song, but it's perfect. And you've chosen some great clips and done wonderful things with them.

Thank you, sweetie!

Just catching up with all the wonderful Christmas offerings in Prosland, and have just found a quiet moment to myself to watch this. Like several people here, I have to admit, I'm not usually a vid fan. But, oh, you've won me over completely with this one - absolutely perfect! Lovely slow slightly off-beat song, lovely composition of shots, had to watch it again immediately and then again and then save it to favourites. A visual feast - thank you so much for this.

How beautiful and sad was this *Big Sigh* A real heartbreaking vid, poor Ray.
And I just can agree, it definitely needs a sequel.
Thank you for this wonderful vid!

A very intersting vid. Your choice of clips matches well and adds to the emotion of the lyrics so well. The angst and pain are palpable & you just want to huggle Ray. Poor Bodie - so clueless! *tips hat* Well done!

Oh yes. Absolutely beautiful, and very touching.

I know nothing about making songvids, but this strikes me as exactly what a great songvid should be - it marries video excerpts to a song, tying in with both the lyrics and the music, and in the process making something completely new.

But I need a happy ending. Please?

Wow. What powerful emotions this stirs up. It's beautiful, lush. Thank you.

Poor Ray! Really nice job of telling a story with your clips. You did a terrific job of putting together a Christmas vid from a show without a Christmas episode. I take my hat off to you. I had thought to perhaps try to do something vid-like for the challenge, but gave up. You're made of stronger stuff. Well done.

Loved the whole vid, especially the way you ended ... the scene from where you made your Snowy Icon ... beautiful.

[identity profile] sunray45.livejournal.com 2006-12-31 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
That is just so beautiful. I'm absolutely hopeless with words, but big hugs and thank yous for a lovely vid.

CLUNK ... getting back up from the floor ... holy focaccia that was amazing! Despite all the fab fiction there is I've never felt so bad for Raymond before, never wanted to beat that Bodie around the face with a wet haddock before. Doh! He's beautifully dim, but Ray is even more beautifully lovelorn. And I just love the two of them crammed into doorways together .. Thanks for this complete gem, and for introduction to that haunty music. And yay for bitter melancholy!
