Here is another songvid, which was ispired by a song which went onto the Hatstand's advent calendar. I just had to make it. So thank you Hatstand.
It is a little on the melancholy side, and goes to show, timing is everything.

Enjoy!

'A little on the melancholy'. Hmmm, methinks you are the mistress of the understatement. That was one of the most unbelievably sad things I have ever seen. So moving and so utterly unhappy.
*Sob*
Really wonderful, every word and picture went together perfectly, but . . .

Date: 2006-12-27 06:09 pm (UTC)I'm really useless at commenting on stuff like this--the vid is so effective at evoking just that sense of melancholy, edging towards despair. Thank you! That is a beautiful vid.

Date: 2006-12-28 03:33 pm (UTC)Well I think you have done a bang up job. :)Thank you very much for such lovely feedback. As for the story, do you want to write it? ;)*grins and maybe begs a little*

Date: 2006-12-28 05:01 pm (UTC)What, a despairing Doyle story? Me?? *g* So...he finally screws up his courage to confront Bodie and finds him with a girl, and loses his nerve. Poor lad. Or maybe they actually are together, but Doyle comes home early.... Dunno, somehow I don't think a story could quite match the evocative beauty of the vid!

No, honestly, thank you!
Bodie loves Doyle too, and they live happily ever after in CI5 and live to a ripe old age. And are still as passionate about each other today as the day they got it together. Which was infact shortly after Ray went out of the door and Bodie caught up with him in the park, where he explained that his sister had to sleep somewhere and he was only stopping her from falling out of the bed. P.S. She forgot her pyjamas. :)

Date: 2006-12-27 10:08 pm (UTC)I love the way you used the clips to tell a completely new story. Poor Doyle! Even if he was a bit of a stalker-Doyle. ;-) Every look, every glance meant something different than it meant in the show. Very, very cool!
And I'll add my voice to the chorus asking for a sequel. We got Doyle's POV, now what about Bodie? Is he utterly clueless? Because I got the feeling he might have some idea what was going on...
Loved it!

Date: 2006-12-28 06:17 pm (UTC)Lovely, now you mention it, Ray does read a lot, doesn't he. :)
I didn't realise until I read this, just how much of a stalker Ray is in this...lol

Um...
Is he utterly clueless?
Er...
Because I got the feeling he might have some idea what was going on...
Oh... well, you might be onto something there. ;)
I'm delighted you loved it. *g* Thank you for the lovely feedback.

Date: 2006-12-27 10:58 pm (UTC)Stunning winter Ray. Happy ending sequel??? Bodie's story sequel??? Say yes please, because if not...
Warning! Very bad fic writer: "our stunning winter Ray opened old Bodie's CI5 flat door. He didn't remember that Bodie's finally moved with him because a evil and ill-intentioned snowflake hit him on the head. After discovering in bed the boring straight couple living now in ex Bodie's flat he realized that his love was waiting (naked) at their home. He left the building and drove back home" ;)

Date: 2006-12-28 06:25 pm (UTC)You know I quite like you alternate ending. That rogue snowflake has a lot to answer for, it had all of these girls going there for a while...lol Now if only I had the clips to make that one. :)

Date: 2006-12-27 10:59 pm (UTC)And great choice of song! And very good job matching visuals to the music!
(I don't know if you care about this sort of thing, but there should be an apostrophe in "Winter's" and also in "Season's.")
Slightly sad ending but we know Bodie doesn't care about the bird. Ever. His one true love is Doyle. He'll come around, I know.

Yes, I do. I am just not very good at it. Thank you for pointing it out. :)
Yes, Bodie loves Doyle, and always will. Just bad timing on both their parts. :)

Date: 2006-12-27 11:12 pm (UTC)Poor Ray. He loves his Bodie so much - surely Bodie knows?
which is my way of hinting that I'd love a sequel too...
Beautiful vid, Mel. Being the old fart that I am I have to admit that I didn't know the song, but it's perfect. And you've chosen some great clips and done wonderful things with them.
Thank you, sweetie!

Date: 2006-12-28 07:08 pm (UTC)Shall we form a queue to administer the huggles. I'd hate for him to be hurt in the sudden rush. Although, I reckon his Bodie might just step in and prtest him

Date: 2006-12-28 05:10 pm (UTC)I know nothing about making songvids, but this strikes me as exactly what a great songvid should be - it marries video excerpts to a song, tying in with both the lyrics and the music, and in the process making something completely new.
But I need a happy ending. Please?

Date: 2007-01-10 09:05 am (UTC)Yeah, our Ray does do hurt so well, doesn't he, although Bodie is not so bad at it himself. As for the the wet haddock? Isn't that a bit drastic? How about a wet anchovy? LOL I'd hate for that extremely handsome face to be marred in some way. *g* Ray just wouldn't be impressed, would he.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. And I am so very glad you enjoyed it so much. And even though it sounds a little callous, I am quite happy I managed to be able to stir those emotions in people. Thank you! (sorry I couldn't get back to you before I have only just found this lovely feedback)
