First Footing Gift #3

What could be better than a pub-crawl for New Year's? Bodie & Doyle on a pub-crawl of course :D

Note: Lyrics decoding/translations here!
Note2: Rated M - caveo visum
Note3: Vids should be right-clicked & saved for best performance.

I've loved this song by the Pogues forever. For such a short song, it was quite a challenge to match Pros scenes with the locations, some of which are quite a stretch, but just go with it anyway, if you please!

May you have peace, happiness, & prosperity in the New Year!

This one I can comment on ... as you know, I enjoyed it very much. It shows how well you know The Professionals and relate scenes to wording in the song. Wouldn't it be lovely if one could go to University and get a Masters Degree in CI5!

Whee! No clue on the lyrics--oh, look, you have a decoding page! Great, I'll take a look at that. But...this was fun even without understanding a single word. *g* I knew there were a lot of fights in the episodes but. my goodness! Beautifully cut, and I love the closing scenes. Thank you! These are wonderful First Footing gifts!

Now off to find out what the heck the song was actually saying.... *g*

A great song choice and a fun vid. You've chosen some truly ingenious clips and it's certainly a perfect song for a New Year's Eve.

I really enjoyed this, thank you! Made a lovely break from my continuing struggles with my essay (as did your other vid – I'm not a believer in B/C, but it was still great fun to watch Cowley in his heyday – and new year picture. Bodie really is the quintessential first footer, isn't he?). I'm a big fan of The Pogues, so it's always good to hear their music, and when it's combined with such well-chosen footage of the lads it's even better *g*.

I love it! A really wild ride. And thanks for the translation. Made quite a difference. ;-)

You know...I think that's just become my favorite of your vids. Your pace is spot on, and that's saying something, because that puppy moved! I love all the clips you've found of the boys enjoying a pint and getting into some dustup action afterwards (whether one invariably leads to the other is not for me to say. *g*). This one is a lot of fun and quite a nice way to see off the year. Cheers!

Outstanding! I love how you matched the scenes to the music. (Thanks for the translations!) This is masterfully done. Thank you for the lovely pressie!

Thank you for Translation

I was just about to write and say that I would have to listen to this one about twenty times to get all the lyrics when what to my wondering eyes should appear but Note: Lyrics decoding/transations here.
What a fantastic idea. I am printing it out and will read it along with the song so that next time I play it the words will leap out at me :-)

All the best in the upcoming year.

Fabulous, absolutely fabulous. You've done a great job - it's just pure genius putting a Pros vid to a Pogues song. Excellent stuff.

Oh excellent - love the Pogues, and I love all that kicking the lads do in the vid. Very nice... *g* Thank you!

I adore the Pogues, so thumbs up for the music. All the fist-fighting sequences were cut in extremely well, and the pacing was brilliant. It's probably a pity that there are relatively few drinking scenes in Pros (they do their bit, but they aren't quite the boozers that Jack and George are). So that makes me want to suggest a Sweeney sequel...*hint*

(hope that still sounds enthusiastic - unfortunately I'm a fan of both shows, and I kept seeing John Thaw with a pint in one hand and a villain in the other).

Actually, I'm sure there's a multi-fandom vid (Brit shows, of course) just begging for the Pogues treatment *more hinting*

Bhuahahaha! I guess I'm a bit of a freak then... I never had *any* trouble 'hearing' the words to that song. But then, the Pogues are in my blood. ;-)

Really liked the vid!

Oddly, I've never had much trouble hearing the words either. And I'm Canadian! Where I appreciate the translation is when it comes to words I just don't know. I can hear them, haven't a clue what they mean. Or refer to.

Wonderful, happy, bouncy vid! I love the Pogues, and you kept the beat perfectly. Thanks!
