A little Christmas story - Part two
Ray slammed the receiver down. "Know what the Cow did?" he asked while turning to Bodie. "Don't say it, Ray. He didn't cancel our Christmas leave, did he?" "Oh yeah, he did. There is a threat against Mrs. Cronchester and she asked if, no she insisted that you and me should be the lucky ones to guard her." They looked each other in the eyes.
"So let's have our Christmas eve now", Bodie mentioned. Doyle beamed. "Yeah, let's move the armchairs and decorate the tree."


"Okay Bodie, go fetch the ladder while I take the decorations out of the cupboard."

"Ok, let's start with the light." He climbed up the ladder and began to wrap the lights around the tree.

When he was finished, Doyle turned on the lights and they started decorating the tree.

"Go and open the other one, while I have a glass of chamapgne." Doyle went to the tree and started to tear up paper again.

"You bought me a carpet, mate?" he asked with a little uncertainty.
"Well, I thought it might be useful under your easel. Or did you love the lecture you got from the Cow the last time you dropped paint all over the carpet in your last flat? Remember, this very expensive carpet was only twenty years old."
Doyle laughed, threw himself into Bodie's arms and claimed some kisses.
