Well, I can't quite believe I'm about to say this, but... that's the end not just of the Discovered in the Brandy Butter Challenge, but also of our Discovered in 1977 theme, which we've been running since 13th June 2007, thirty years after filming Pros began in 1977 until - well, okay, we cheated a bit *g* - 30th December 2007 7th January 2008, thirty years after the first episode of Pros was transmitted.

Thank you so much to everyone who's taken part - creating, reading, commmenting, all the good stuff.

If you've contributed stories then don't forget that The Hatstand isn't archiving automatically any more, so do send fic to the archivist at the address given here.

As usual (if perhaps a bit later rather than sooner) all stories from Discovered In 1977 will be "bound" into a pdf zine for printing, or can be printed and comb bound for you by contacting us via the email addresses on the User Info Page. And each individual Challenge will be tagged and given a link from the User Info Page itself too.

Can you tell I'm trying to delay the moment? But I can't think of anything else useful to say, so - thanks again for a brilliant Winter/Solstice/Christmas/General Festival of Light Celebration, and Happy Pros Thirtieth Anniversary!

There has been looking at answers, and there has been ticking of things and countings of scores - and the winners of [livejournal.com profile] noblesentiments' Discovered in the Brandy Butter Quiz the First and Quiz the Second...

...are here under the cut of course... )

I have the honour of posting on the final day of this wonderful challenge. It's been totally awesome! Every day for weeks now, I've been treated to great stories, art, vids and contests. Thanks to each and every one of you for making my first holiday season in The Professionals a fabulous time.

I started Discovered in the Brandy Butter with a songvid, so I decided to end it with the same. A huge hug and thank you to [livejournal.com profile] ankaree for her help and her art that graces the end of this vid. And now, for your (I hope!) viewing pleasure, a new vid:

Oh, man! Four minutes to spare...

My prompt was leftovers. Consider this an eccentric variation on that theme—some "leftover" story from Part Three of my "Discovered Under the Mistletoe" story from last year: "Four Things That Never Happened to Ray Doyle—and One That Did"

Timestamp is about two weeks following the events in that story—Doyle is out of the hospital and recovering from his injuries caused by Quinn.

The second part of today's post, also on behalf of [livejournal.com profile] noblesentiments is another quotes quiz - one to banish the post-Christmas, back-to-work slump and blues!

As with Quiz the First, there will be screened comments (including my own this time *headdesk*), a deadline of 7.00am GMT (Lads' Time) on 7th January - that's Monday - and a prize for the most correct answers - a bound copy of The Christmas Special 2007 zine, with all the lovely art by Crimson.

So... any takers? )
[identity profile] byslantedlight.livejournal.com
Posted on behalf of [livejournal.com profile] noblesentiments - the first of two quizzes for today! And this time there will even be prizes, one for each quiz - printed, comb-bound copies of the Christmas Special 2007 zine, complete with artwork in all it's glory (as seen here on Christmas Day)!

Comments with answers will be screened, and the answers/winners will be announced on the 7th January - post your answers any time until 7.00am GMT (Lads' Time!) So without further ado...

Ok, I can't compete with all the wonderful authors over here, so I give you...

Hope you like it!

My prompt was roast duck. There are no roast ducks, real or metaphorical, in this fic. Oh well, it's still seasonal and there's beer - enjoy!

Happy New Year everyone! And there's Prosfic to begin it - how perfect is that? Posted on behalf of [livejournal.com profile] loyseofverlaine:

I haven't read or commented yet on so many stories because I've been working frantically on my own (I'll get to it--I swear!).  Luckily, I finished in time.

For your reading pleasure, I give you Four Things Bodie Forgot (and One He Didn't).  It's holiday tinged, yet covers a lot of ground overall.  My prompts were champagne and Christmas crackers.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] callistosh65 and [livejournal.com profile] przed.  I hope you like it.

Please feel free to archive.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

I'll be back with those goodies you were looking for soon, for now I will leave you to talk amongst yourselves for a bit.

My prompt was apricot schnapps(!).

My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.

Hi, all. It's 28th December already here in Japan, so I want to post this one as the result of my Christmas Challenge. Er, yeah, I know that Christmas day is actually over but wanted to do something about it disparately!! It's 3 days ago so I made the lads rush:)

Two deadlines within three days of one another have reminded me why I don't function well with deadlines *g*. I'm afraid this story was finished on the late side of last minute, so apologies in advance.

The prompt was <i>bubble and squeak<i>, a meal traditionally made from leftovers. The potato is the bubble the cabbage (or other vegetables) are the squeak.

I keep getting an error message coming up on the posting an entry page, which isn't accepting the cut to the story. As I have to go out, I'll post the story on my livejournal - probably not behind the cut. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Happy holidays.

My prompt was a selection box, and I was a good girl and got it in.

“A lovely thing about Christmas is that it’s compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together.” -Garrison Keillor, ‘Leaving Home’-

Like a Thunderstorm )

Well, we're finally on the sunny side of the midwinter solstice, and today is traditionally Christmas Day in many parts of the world. All in all, a time of feasting, and lighting fires, and making merry.

It's also the time of year where the lads might have sat down in front of the box to watch that fine old 1970s tradition, the Christmas Special, and so in honour of 1977, and thirty years of The Professionals we thought we'd have a go at emulating such style!

So, without further to-do, ladles and jellyspoons, here for your viewing (and reading!) pleasure...

So, having had a reasonable day at work, I now bring you Part Two of my Christmas Eve offering. This time it is a short ficlet. Hope you enjoy it.

About A Pout )

MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL.

XXXXX
[identity profile] probodie.livejournal.com
Yes, before anyone protests or comments, I do know it is still the 23rd here in the UK. However, the time is now 23:46, and as I am working until 6pm tomorrow, I'd thought I'd post the first part of my BrandyButter offering now. I hope you all dont mind *too* much. *g*

So, to get onto my post, my first offering is for some icons. Sadly, they arent Christmassy. I dont do Christmassy icons, I leave that to others more talented than I am, but they are mostly of Bodie and Doyle, with a smidgen of Peter from Cranford sneakily nudged in there.

Enjoy!
