This is so perfect for the sin of hubris. I loved that line too (“Have you finished talking to me about other men?”) - it sound like just the kind of humour they would use between them at a moment like that, to express feelings and thoroughly hide them (even from themselves) at the same time. You had me worried towards the end - a hairsbreadth away from disaster - I'm so glad you showed them the error of their ways! Thank you so much.
