Every now and then there's been chat about writing in Pros, and how we can get back to inspiring each other, and usually at some point I say I really must post more challenges to
discoveredinalj again, and sometimes I do and sometimes I don't - so I thought I'd start off early this year!
I also thought I might try a challenge that combines something that's been successful in Pros in the past, and was in fact one of the things that started me writing Pros in the first place -
the_safehouse's weekly challenges. Hmmn - I was going to link to one, but when
queenbamfie stomped off she deleted all her posts at Safehouse as well. On the bright side, she was away for a while in 2005, and
carodee took over, so here is one of hers! QB stopped posting the challenges in 2006, which is when
empty_mirrors and I started our National Curriculum challenges, and then eventually started
discoveredinalj, where we posted seasonal challenges instead. Weekly challenges have been run since of course - for a while Draycevixen posted some to Safehouse, after I'd described them being popular way back when, and then of course she created her own Pros comm and posted them there instead. And then that faded away too. (Here endeth the history lesson... *vbg*)
So here we are - shall we have a go at some weekly writing challenges here this year? I'd like to do them mostly the original
the_safehouse way - I'll post the challenges each week, with themes, and offer prompts for people to reply to and hopefully say they'd like to join in (or read etc. *g*). Then we can all go away and write (or actually create - images and vids etc. welcome too, even though I'll keep calling it a writing challenge!) and ideally post that week, but basically whenever you're finished ready (cos we all seem to have alot less time/opportunity these days, as counter-intuitive as that seems to me!)
What d'you think?
