Oh, I think this goes straight into my "re-read often" list! Such accomplished writing, such depths, understated and so, so believable. Are you really not English? Wow! Some lovely phrases - I liked "He tugged the window to be sure; once bitten twice shy didn't even touch it." and "Doyle had told him once that if he had fur he'd be a bassset hound, and if Doyle hesitated one more minute about any of this, he'd stick out his bottom lip and be done with it." And I laughed at "And besides, if he wanted his head chewed off he could do something far less dangerous, like hump a lion. Or Cowley." and "it came out with all the ease and comfort of a tooth extraction." Heck, I'll just quote the whole thing, shall I? You have conveyed beautifully how much life has changed for Bodie, as well as Doyle and how they both have to struggle to come to terms with their altered circumstances. And, although I've read several post DIAG stories, I don't think I've found any of them quite as convincing as this. Beautiful! And I see you are now posting fic on your LJ so please may I friend you? A couple of tiny typos - basset hound above has grown an extra s, r is missing from surprised in the paragraph about Doyle's new flat, hope you don't mind me pointing those out. Thank you - looking forward hopefully to more Pros stories!
