Well, I hope you'll be doing more of these! I like the idea of Doyle being able to handle guns and shooting, but finding he flinches when fireworks go off. And that Bodie noticed. And that Doyle noticed that Bodie noticed. *g* I liked the action sequence, too, and Doyle feeling like he's really back at work, and functioning just as he should. It was a nice progression for him, and for the story.
And of course I loved Doyle discovering what he really feels for Bodie, and especially how that came out in hospital. But Bodie had stayed, gripping his hand, muttering words Doyle couldn't focus on. He heard only the sound of the familiar voice. Yeah, I liked that a lot.
And this: Another rocket whistled past the window, and Bodie noticed absently that Doyle didn’t even twitch. Holding the clear gaze with his own, he tilted his head to one side and leant forward… Yes! Mind you, next time I think we need a little more, um, description. ;-)
