(Though I think you go through a stage when the kids are a certain age when they don't go to bed so early and it doesn't half limit your evening activities! Well, you can't get too falling over merry in front of them, can you?? Mine have gone now, one to Uni and one moved to London but it may be too late now as my urge to party seems to have got up and gone, too! Getting old and boring, I think *BG*) As you may have noticed on LJ, I do often comment on fics - it must be really frustrating to post a story you've slaved over and then get zilch back. I was amazed to read on her journal the other day that helenraven had about ten letters of feedback when she published Heat trace and none, NONE at all then on her later stories. My god, how dispiriting, especially since her stories are now so highly regarded - several people recced them to me when I first found fanfic. The net and especially LJ have made it easier to comment quickly and easily these days, so I do try to when I like a story. And, as I said, I take my hat off to people who manage to fit writing into their busy lives and produce really good writing, too. You're right, there are some excellent writers around, but you shouldn't put yourself down - there's room for more!! And I admire you for having the nerve to go for it which is more than I've done. I look at the quality of what's out there and just can't imagine I could ever produce anything to compare. Very daunting! But I'm happy to cheer you on!
