"in which case I keep quiet rather than say something to offend." That tends to be what I do, too. Your kids sound lovely - my son is also smashing about Pros and he was also very grown up very early, well, both mine were. He was happy to sit and enjoy Pros with me late each evening, when I first got the Pros dvds - even coming home from the pub earlier and choosing which episodes he wanted to see. He just laughs at me liking MS/Pros/slash! My daughter just thinks I'm mad - but then, she's goes to Chalet School Cons, so each to his/her own!! We always tried to make having a drink part of life for the kids - a sip of wine when we were having one as soon as they were old enough, and a glass of cider with Sunday lunch or whatever. Never saw the point of giving booze the added allure of being totally forbidden! Enjoy the rest of your birthday and especially the choccy fudge cake - my favourite - and hope your day tomorrow is better than yesterday. Cheers!
