And after a very short rest... *g*... the next Dialj challenge! Not sure how we'll get on now that there're challenges being run over at
the_safehouse as well, but let's see how we go and hope that there's room for two challenge sites in Pros! I guess we'll all just have to write/draw/create more... *g*
We thought we'd try something a bit different with our Autumn challenge this year - Found in Fanon/Discovered in Canon. Canon, of course, is anything derived directly and indisputably from the eps - Doyle wears tight jeans, Bodie wears a bracelet, Doyle cooks spaghetti, Bodie has a lock-up containing a car with communication equipment in the boot... and so on. Fanon, on the other hand, is the set of ideas that have grown through written fic that is the author's interpretation of the series - Bodie can't live without Swiss Roll, Doyle last saw his wallet when he was about sixteen, Bodie is incredibly tidy because he's a military man, Doyle wears jewellery while Bodie disdains it... and so on. *g* So....
...if you fancy playing this month, all you need to do is respond below requesting either a Canon or a Fanon prompt - and that is what you shall receive! Then, as ever, use that somehow as inspiration for your piece - writing, drawing, vidding, whatever you care to create for us - and don't forget this is a Pros challenge site, not just a fic site! You can focus on the prompt, base your piece loosely on the prompt, use it as a jumping-off point, eye it up from all sides and decide to do the exact opposite... anything you like! You don't even need a prompt to play (though it'd be nice if you'd comment to say you're thinking about it anyway, so that we can look forward... *g*) - you've always wanted to write a story around something very specific from the eps? Please do, and post it! Always wanted to explode a particular pieces of fanon? Go for it!
The challenge will run between now and the end of October (midnight, Pago Pago time, on the 31st October) - and there may well be mini fanon/canon challenges in between, no, I really mean it this time... *g* .
There's also absolutely no worries about requesting a prompt and then not posting anything - real life happens, that's how it goes, and we're very chilled out about it here. No stress if you answered a challenge ages ago and didn't end up playing - feel free to try it again, and then either post or not post. The fun is supposed to be in the trying - although of course it's very fun for readers/viewers to have things to read/view, so finishing and posting is good too... *g*
So... anyone want to play? *vbg*
(And do let me know if the colours are driving you mad, this challenge - I can't decide if I like their depth and slight purple-ness, or if it's just a terrible mess... I did mention that I'm rubbish at that sort of thing, right?! *g* *eyes November challenge happily*)

Date: 2008-09-24 07:06 am (UTC)And I'm very ashamed that I didn't post anything last time - I really need someone with a whip behind me...
Shall we try it again?
Give me a prompt please!
(Did I get that right? Canon is..., but it's only fanon that they... no... :-))))

Date: 2008-09-24 07:30 am (UTC)(Very quickly, if you're typing posts into the html tab, rather than the rich text tab window - which are usually top right of the window you're typing into - then you can use html code to make italics and strikethroughs etc. All you need to type is this - but without the asterisks: <*i*> to start italics, and <*/i*> to finish them. So if you type <*i*>Bodie and Doyle<*/i> then you will get Bodie and Doyle! If you use <*b*> and <*/b*> then you get bold typing, if you use <*strike*><*/strike*> then you will get a line striking through the text
like this. If you like drop me an email and I can send you some other useful codes and we can try it!)Now - would you like a canon prompt or a fanon prompt?! *g*

How about some 'keeping after school' in the evening? Must hurry, again late for work...

Surprise me!
<*i*>I trust you!<*/i*> :-)
Test O.K.?

Date: 2008-09-24 08:01 am (UTC)I was hoping most people would read the colours via their own flist colours, or on the white background - but thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate it!
Right - your prompt then is... a canon one, from this week's ProsWatch:
In "Wild Justice" there is a briefcase on the chair in Doyle's bedroom...
Shall be waiting to see what you make of that! *vbg*

Date: 2008-09-24 08:09 am (UTC)And it's just absolutely totally true that the lads are having sex. It's like... not even canon or fanon, it's just a part of the rightness of the universe... *vbg*
Right - you shall have Fanon then, and your fanon prompt is...
Bodie is generous, Doyle is stingy!

Date: 2008-09-24 10:57 am (UTC)I'd like a prompt for canon and fanon because I couldn't decide. If you don't mind. If you'd rather not, surprise me and we'll see what happens.

Date: 2008-09-24 11:13 am (UTC)Canon and fanon?! Right, your prompt is:
Doyle lets Cowley try and tie his bowtie in "Wild Justice" (canon) and Cowley likes Bodie best (fanon). Have fun! *g*

Date: 2008-09-24 11:14 am (UTC)ETA - Speaking of which - scrub that prompt, I've just seen that someone has given it to me up above! Let's try that again... *g*
Right - your fanon prompt is:
Doyle is constantly eating healthily, and is seriously concerned about Bodie's weight as well.
