I was going to post on the shortest day, but I shall now post on the longest night, and maybe that's better after all, because this is a long-ish story too...

Two on a Treasure Island - by Slantedlight

(I'll try and get it up in other formats too, but right now AH is just not playing nicely...)

Congratulations! And thank you. This is going on the to-read pile (due to panic), but eventually! Meanwhile, that's a lovely graphic!

I haven't read yet, but came to congratulate you on the Enid Blytonish title, and the very nice graphic!
Am looking forward to the adventure...

Ooh, fab! Looking forward to some nice, meaty Christmas reading *g*. And I can transfer it to my Kindle and lounge around in bed like Lady Muck reading it!

What a lovely way to start my holidays. I will have to print it out and retire to the sofa for some time with the lads. *g* I have had a peak at the first few pages already. Thank you for such a great present.

I send a big hug.

Could you send me a non-pdf for Proslib, or do you only want it that way?

Cheers

Yeh long fic and older lads. Thank you for the Christmas Present. I will enjoy reading on the ipad.

Also I just reread your story "Never the words they Say". It was one of the first slash fics that I read and made me want to read more. I couldn't remember what it was called but knew it was on the Hatstand so strolled through all the Author Stories to find it. It was as good as I remembered it. Loved the dialogue and the Village life. Could there be a sequel with older lads? Anyway this time I've pdfed it and saved to the ipad, so it won't be so difficult to find again.

What an awesome, lovely read! I needed a good adventure after a dead boring day at work. *g* Trouble does seem to follow the lads, doesn't it? *g*

Bodie with his 'old boys' and Doyle starting to get rather annoyed with all the old mob coming out of the woodwork by the end of it was good fun.

I could definitely see Bodie and Doyle buying Burt's pub and settling down there, with a sideline of treasure hunting. *g*

Thanks for such a fun story!

An absolutely fabulous, long read ... I enjoyed every minute and ended up going to bed verrrry late because I couldn't put it down!!

I just adore the present-day lads, their banter, their concern and their love for each other.

Your writing style is beautiful and just draws you into the thick of the action ... whether it be the mystery, the trauma or the sex. Just brilliant!

I had to savour this one. I actually just finished it after starting yesterday. Some sort of record for me :D Thank you for putting in such an amount of work to write a lovely, long story - the very best stories are LONG!

Theme - older Lads - not really my favorite, but you made me love it - good on you!

Action - nothing slows these guys down, not even somewhat creaky bones and truculent, slimy M w/o P's.

Love - ah, sweet, sexy, believable, and hot.

The denouement - fancy buying a pub? Yeah - that's the ticket, Sunshine!

Upshot - love, love, love it!

This was great! A bit of angst at the start with Ray being forced out of CI5, a thoughtful Bodie coming up with a vacation, an adventure, the usual bantering...but my favorite bits were the times the lads showed their affection for each other. Everytime Bodie took Ray's hand I melted! Well done!

I'm about halfway through (because yes, I am now on time off, yay!). Bodie has just had a narrow escape, and they've found the secret thingummy - but I had to let you know that I think it's a fab retelling. All the right things, like the ship, and the storm, the villains and the island, are perfectly right, and the changes work wonderfully well - rather like the mobile phones on the island, in fact!

Thank you!

At last! I've had a chance to read (though in the end I didn't get my much-anticipated uninterrupted leisurely read, but devoured in chunks instead!). Enjoyed this so much - and I'm completely bowled over by how productive you've been of late, btw - it was a really satisfying, substantial story, with layers of their relationship and some great OCs and a proper adventure *g* with loads of realistic detail (loved Ray messaging a cellphone-photo of the entrance to the caves - of course he would! He has competence in spades!). And of course I loved the thought that they might turn around that ultimatum Ray was threatened with, and retire on their own terms. And how protective the barwoman was!

I enjoyed every bit of it, and love the fact that their intelligence and fitness and competence doesn't just vanish because they're no longer young - they are the age they are, without sugar-coating, but without ceasing to be themselves, as tough and able and uncompromising as ever. And in love... and people around them mostly accepting that *g*

Thank you so much for a huge feast of delights. I think I shall start having withdrawal symptoms soon, now the holiday banquet is drawing to a close... (oh I wish it could be winter-solstice every da-a-a-ay.... *bg*)

It was a great adventure story. I have a kink for older lads and these boys still got it! They were adorable together, so much in love. The treasure hunt was a lot of fun, and the h/c always makes me happy. *bad kat* I can understand Doyle's unhappiness over his work situation, with what he has to decide, and Bodie just knows what do to. The pub! I love the pub. I'd buy the pub! Thanks. Delightful reading.

What a wonderful story! And it had everything—adventure, romance, humor. I loved every bit of it, but especially their time on the island. And I was happy to read that they were staying.

See how far behind I am - I haven't even said "Whoop! Thank you!" yet *g*

I've just dipped in to the first couple of pages and made happy squeaking noises, and I'm now saving it for when I've got proper time to enjoy it. Thank you ever so, in case I forget to say so later *g*

Oh, it did work, wonderfully well. I'm surprised no-one else apart from Siskou picked up on the EB angle (going by comments at least), because even without Uncle Quentin & Aunt Fanny it's so true to the source, but different enough that it's all about the Lads, really.

And reading down the page, YAY for sequels *g*

Longish - and fabulous! This one will join the all-time greats! Older lads and an incredible adventure!! I loved the stunning visual effect of your descriptions of the wreck, the castle and the dungeons. It's also a definitive and upbeat ending to the series, with the purchase of a pub and adventures to come. Like Larton, this could have its serial numbers filed off and be marketed as original fic. But, like Larton, it's even better when you know who they are!

I read it on my new Kindle and was thrilled to be able to curl up with it on the ferry back from Rotterdam.

Totally off-topic - where do we leave feedback for Lizzie? I read her Nice Boys on the Kindle, too, and have got confused as to where I got it from (the story, not the Kindle) but seem to remember you posting it on her behalf.

My life being as it it ::rolls eyes, shakes fist:: I'm about three quarters of the way through, and loving it to bits - I also tend to read slower when I enjoy something *g* It's a bit weird to read about places I know though *g*, but great fun.

Oh, I do agree about leaving it as fanfic - but wanted to say I thought it was capable of standing alone, which a lot of fanfic, however good, isn't.

And *waaah* about Lizzie not writing any more. Will leave feedback in the hope that it helps in the persuasion effort.
