Discovered in a Christmas Cracker - Day 7
Dec. 7th, 2012 02:49 pmNow this one is far sillier. Enjoy. *bg*
A Christmas Haiku Dialogue
Doyle
Bodie, mate, come here.
I’m under the mistletoe,
Waiting for a kiss.
Bodie
Ray, you silly arse,
We’re at a CI5 do —
Everyone would see!
Doyle
I don’t want to hide
The way I feel about you,
I’m sick of lying.
Bodie
It isn’t lying,
Sensibly evading truth
Is merely good sense.
Doyle
Well, if you insist,
I do have some mistletoe
Hanging in my car.
Bodie
As long as you know
What else is going to happen
As soon as we’re there.
Doyle
For Christ’s sake, Bodie,
I should bloody well hope so!
Now let’s get going.
Cowley
Now listen here, lad,
I won’t have that language used
In my hearing at Christmas.
Doyle
Oops — I’m sorry, sir.
We were just talking about
Calling it a night.
Cowley
Young men nowadays!
When I was young, we partied
Long into the night!
Bodie
Ah, but you see, sir,
We’ve just come off a hard case,
And we need a rest.
Cowley
Oh, very well, then.
Merry Christmas, both of you,
And Happy New Year.
Bodie
Thank God, he’s going.
Come on, where’s this mistletoe
You just promised me?
Doyle
I told you — my car.
The heating’s working, and the
Blanket’s in the boot.
