My turn, my turn! *g*

It’s been lovely having little Pros-y gifts every day for the last month – Pros fandom is full of some of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever met. Not to mention blooming talented! So thank you to everyone.

I’ve got a couple of bits of artwork for you, which I’ll post later, but as that didn't seem quite enough, I’m going to begin today by cheating a tad. Hush *g*

Back in the summer, I wanted to do some quick artwork to try out a new font. As I was re-reading JoJo’s 'Love in a Cold Country' at the time, that’s what I played about with, and then used it when reccing the story in CI5HQ’s mini review challenge. So I thought I’d start today by repeating my post, because it’s a fabulous story, stuffed full with the things I love most about the lads and how they’re written in fandom. Plus – snow! Loads and loads of lovely white snow.

Love in a Cold Country

It’s one of my all-time favourite comfort reads: there's freezing, snow-covered countryside; Bodie hurt, and stuck out in the open under fire; and Doyle trying to cope with the situation, whilst dealing with tragic memories of the past overlapping the present. It's also slash, of the sweetest, hottest kind. Understated, fabulous descriptions, lovely dry humour, Bodie with a beard... what’s not to love? My favourite line involves the beard... "Up close the new look lent Bodie the air of a particularly disenchanted and sleep-deprived Italian fisherman."

See!

Ooh, gorgeous artwork for JoJo's story! Thank you for that, and for the reminder rec!

Looking forward to the rest!

Awww, thank you, you're a love! *glees* Such a pretty banner - they are so yummy in ice blue :D I really should have it on the story at AO3 - credited of course! Is that OK by you?

Lovely artwork, and a story I haven't read! I think I've skimmed over it as it has a similar title to something I have read. So double thanks!

It is lovely!
Colour and font are beautiful, also the 'letter effect' - not to mention the two lads. :-)

Of course I use it as header for the story on my Kindle.
- off to reread it.
Thank you!

Thank you for the rec. I love this story. And your artwork lives up to it: the frosty blues, the textures, our lads beautifully captured, and last but not least the font. I've never seen it before, and I think it suits the cool colours and the winter theme. :-)

Hiya - quick mod question! I've just realised that your 3 Cracker posts are locked - is this just automatic because your lj is default friends-locked, or do you have a particular reason for it? We try to keep posts open here at Discoveredinalj, so that non-lj Pros fans can access them too (who are most likely to be older Pros fans, whose writing and so on we've enjoyed for years - we like to try and return the favour!). If you don't have a specific reason for wanting your posts locked, would you mind unlocking them? Thanks!

It's okay, I only asked this morning, when I was doing the tags and noticed...

I have no idea how changing the security wiped out the tags though - you should have just been able to edit the security to public rather than members, and it shouldn't have affected anything else! Never mind, I'll go and put them back... *g*

It's possible... That said, my lj banner and sidebar images have vanished, and it's not lj's fault at all - my palelyloitering website is down too, ack!

Tags are all back now - yeay! And thanks for unlocking, by the way (I think it is a thing about having your individual lj flocked - all your posts are flocked elsewhere by default as well... It' s definitely not just you, every now and then over the past few years I've had to ask people to unlock posts that they'd never intended to lock at a comm!)
