Lovely! I really liked that subtle underlining of what can go wrong so easily through miscommunication - not just between them, but between Doyle & Stuart too. This line near the end made me shiver as well as Doyle:
Doyle nodded. Withdrawal and indifference—he’d been more than a fool. But for a chance turn in conversation, Bodie would have been gone in the morning. Doyle shivered.
