Thank you! This was slightly moving away from canon, as Cowley's limp was deliberately downplayed in later seasons, but I liked the idea of comparing the effects differing injuries could have on long-term quality of life.
So far as the change in their relationship is concerned, & Cowley's reaction to it, I think this is a topic open to lots of interpretations. Would they tell him? Would they just try to carry on as normal, hoping that no-one will see what's going on under their noses? Maybe wait for him to find out? (Personally, I think that would be risky).
