A little Christmas story - Part two
Ray slammed the receiver down. "Know what the Cow did?" he asked while turning to Bodie. "Don't say it, Ray. He didn't cancel our Christmas leave, did he?" "Oh yeah, he did. There is a threat against Mrs. Cronchester and she asked if, no she insisted that you and me should be the lucky ones to guard her." They looked each other in the eyes.
"So let's have our Christmas eve now", Bodie mentioned. Doyle beamed. "Yeah, let's move the armchairs and decorate the tree."

"Okay Bodie, go fetch the ladder while I take the decorations out of the cupboard."

Doyle took the most loved items and placed them on the coffee table

when Bodie entered the room with the ladder.

"Ok, let's start with the light." He climbed up the ladder and began to wrap the lights around the tree.

When he was finished, Doyle turned on the lights and they started decorating the tree.

Fifteen minutes later they were finished and Bodie took the ladder out and went to get the presents he had gotten for Doyle. When he came back Doyle was sitting on the settee, but there was no gift to be seen. Had Doyle forgotten to buy some?

He went and put the larger one under the tree, then gave the second one to Doyle.
"What is it?" Doyle tore up the paper. "Oh Bodie, that's great", he smiled when he saw the artist paint set full with tubes of every colour.

"Go and open the other one, while I have a glass of chamapgne." Doyle went to the tree and started to tear up paper again.

"You bought me a carpet, mate?" he asked with a little uncertainty.
"Well, I thought it might be useful under your easel. Or did you love the lecture you got from the Cow the last time you dropped paint all over the carpet in your last flat? Remember, this very expensive carpet was only twenty years old."
Doyle laughed, threw himself into Bodie's arms and claimed some kisses.

"And don't you think I have forgotten your present. But I didn't have enough paper to wrap it up." Doyle vanished behind the settee only to come back with one of the most wonderful gifts Bodie had ever got from anyone.
"It's a sledge, Ray! How did you know I wanted to have my own sledge my whole life?" "Oh, I know you, my love. You're a big child."

"Let us go outside and have a ride."
They went outside and had a lot of fun.
"As a child I always loved it to ride down the hill lying on my belly." "So let's do it."
The lay belly down on the sledge, Ray on top of Bodie (because that was always one of their favourite positions)

They went down the hill and at the end the sledge turned over and they landed in the snow. They were laughing so hard that it was really difficult for them to get up and go home.

"Go, put the sledge into the garage, I'll go inside and open the next bottle of champagne", Doyle said and went inside. When Bodie entered the flat he made big eyes. There was a fur carpet on the floor and on this carpet was one Ray Doyle with a ribbon around his waist.

"Close your mouth, mate. You were so sad when your last fur spread burned with your old flat that I thought you needed a new one. And then I saw this wonderful fur carpet and I decided to buy it because I never made love on a fur carpet before. Come here, love."
Bodie didn't need a second invitation, leaped forward and into the waiting arms of his love.

The End.
Merry Christmas and to all a good time from me and the lads

Oh, and it would be nice if it could go to Pros lib but I think that might be a little difficult. :-)

Date: 2018-12-19 08:44 pm (UTC)As usual I had the story in my mind and when I started to take the photos I discovered that I had no sledge, so I used some matches to make one. And then I saw that the tree was to big and that Bodie would need a ladder, so I made this too. It was fun this time, but work too.
So I'm really glad that you love the result.

Date: 2018-12-19 09:01 pm (UTC)*g* lovely, dear. :-) it wasn't easy to create the sleigh, was it ? But your Story fits perfectly to our lads.
Thank you for your great work. Did you ruin your carpet or flat with that special snow ? Will you still find it next Christmas ? I think so :-)

Date: 2018-12-19 09:24 pm (UTC)It was a bit tricky to create the sleigh because I needed something for the skids. I'm so glad that you think the story fits to our lads.
No, I didn't ruin my carpet or flat with the special snow, thanks for asking. It is in a special box which has "SNOW" written on it. :-)
Oh, and I had to cut a piece out of my sheepskin rug, so that the lads could have one.

Date: 2018-12-20 02:09 am (UTC)Bodie's an eternal big child, isn't he? And at Christmas even more! And I love Doyle's utter enthusiasm for getting an artist set as a present. Lovely, thoughtful gifts all around.
And them playing in the snow, how perfect.
Thank you so much.
Wishing you and your family a happy Christmas

Date: 2018-12-20 09:31 pm (UTC)I had the dolls house more than 15 years before I found the lads and I'm so happy they fit in perfectly. They are 8 centimeters high, so are really tiny. I'm so glad that milomaus sold them to me. :-)

Date: 2018-12-20 09:47 pm (UTC)And yes, he is a eternal big child and Doyle loves it to make him happy. Even if it means to end up in snow.
Wishing you and your family a happy Christmas too. And thanks again for the quick beta afterwards. :-)

Date: 2018-12-22 11:18 am (UTC)Your lads are 1/24th scale, it's tiny indeed. I have a 1/12th dollhouse (not suitable for my 1/6th scale lads) and it's small already! I'm trying to build a 1/24 room with a Christmas tree, you may be able to see it if I manage to do it for my post, on December 30. It will be a gift for Bodie, the eternal child, from his Doyle, to put as a decoration in their garden. Hope I can manage to do it without glueing myself to the little bits of the room, LOL.
Anyway, thanks again for your wonderful post, and long live the Lads!
