Blimey, this is wonderful! I love the fact that what really tips Bodie over the edge is a hurt Doyle - rings completely true to me - and that even Doyle is taken aback by the force of Bodie's rage. I also couldn't agree more with what you said in the comments, These are two dangerous, competent, bloody minded, and independent adult men. About the only thing they are vulnerable to is each other. - It's that strength and competence that make the vulnerability to each other alone so powerful and so intensely moving.
