*g* I didn't have a problem with the (ficticious) tunnels & ghosts, but the whole getting them off the train thing gave me heartburn for a couple of days! I was just checking out car design, to make sure there was a door into the driver's compartment, when I read somewhere that the '67 trains didn't have side doors on the driver's cab because they were designed for automatic operating and the LTA thought the side doors were a safety risk (apparently the drivers used to wedge open the doors to increase air flow).
Aaargh! So I searched some more & found photos of the '62 tube stock, which looked like it had side doors. And all happily resolved with one email in less than 24 hours. These L.U. afficionados know their stuff.
Not sure many people would understand it, but I really need to know that my stories are as free from factual flaws as possible. Even if I never mention it in the text ('cos who wants TMI, OK?).
