So! It's November 7th! Clearly time to launch the Discovered Under the Mistletoe Challenge for Professionals fans!
Discovered Under The Mistletoe is our Pros Christmas-Winter-Solstice challenge. If you'd like to participate (please, please do!) then all you need to do is choose a date, and then post something Pros-y and somehow seasonal on that day! And it doesn't have to be Christmas-y, it could just be winter-ish, or it could be related to one of the other festivals (even in the 1970s/80s there were people in the UK who would have been concerned with Hajj, for example). It might be inspired by
empty_mirrors' gorgeous banner, or not. It might even be completely anti-Christmas (although a passing reference to fit into the comm would be nice)! Or it could just be a present offered to any Pros fans passing through the comm…
The hope is that people will receive something Pros in their flist (or by visiting the comm.) every day leading up to Christmas, and even through and to the New Year! Obviously the more people who take part the better it will be, and the more days we will have something posted. Feel free to choose more than one day as well – though if you do it might be nice to space them apart a little! It'd be great if we could cover most of December, right?
It doesn't have to be fic that's posted either (though that's always brill, obviously), it could be art, or icons or other graphics of course, but it could also be something completely different. Always wanted to set up your own Pros trivia quiz? Explain your version of how the lads would spend Christmas and why? Start a discussion about why Bodie adores winter and Doyle doesn't? Make up a Pros crossword puzzle? Post that scan you have of a pic no one else would see otherwise? Erm… stuff!
As ever, we're happy to post for you, if you'd rather not do it yourself for any reason (such as Christmas being a hugely busy time for many people!) And if you'd like to offer "extra content" that can be slotted into days nobody has claimed that would be greatly received as well! Contact either one of us via the email addresses on the User Info page.
Please sign up as soon as possible (so that we can organise for whatever days appear to be empty etc) but feel free to sign up any time the comm is running – if you're suddenly inspired on 16th December to post on the 17th, and it's still an empty day, then comment below and go for it!
To sign up, please comment below with the date/s you would like to post or have your work/creation posted. We will then snag your icon (if that's okay!) to block off those day/s for you on the calendar. Then all you need to do is post on that day! And the icons on the calendar will then also become links to your post!
And finally – this is a much bigger page than usual, if it's messing up anybody's flist, or you're on dial-up and it's too slow, please tell us and we'll put it under a cut after all. It's just that the calendar is so pretty… *g*

Date: 2006-11-13 01:31 pm (UTC)Although, I did make a pretty Bodie X-mas icon for that spot, so we wouldn't be staring at Doyle's apple cheeks twice in one row. (But, it's not important if it's a hassle.)
