While I like to think I'm a reasonably funny person, I find writing angst to be much easier. This probably will not come out right but when you are playing on people's emotions you don't have to worry quite as much about specific word choices/word placement.
On the other hand, you can write a line of dialogue for a character that's supposed to be a funny line and blow it completely just be putting the words in the wrong order. Like when people try to tell you a joke and go "oh, hang on a minute I was supposed to say this first."
I've never been interested in doing what I already know how to do... *is demented*
Ooh... does this mean you've joined up? Will you be drabbling with us this weekend?

Date: 2008-04-25 10:35 pm (UTC)I joined the comm a little while ago but I'm not watching it because flist can only handle two very active comms at once really, so I only saw these drabbles just now.
Try and stop me, baby :D

Date: 2008-04-25 10:47 pm (UTC)Dialogue is easier for than description. I think that comes from having a background in part in Drama and playwriting. I "hear" characters in my head and pick humour accordingly. So Sam tends to play word games, where Gene would be more on the money. But then you know this... ♥
I have a reverse philosophy. I have my small Coms on my flist and I visit the sites of my large Coms when I have the reading time. That way I find I miss less than when I did it the other way around.
Yeah! :D I hope tomorrow's challenge is a good one...
