Welcome to the third and final part of the Discovered Out of Context challenge.

To those of you who have already posted a story, thank you! Of course, if you feel moved to write another story, we will not stand in your way. *flexes titanium pokey stick*

PLEASE bear in mind, that even IF a prompt has already been used, you are still welcome to use the same prompt.

If you would like to be reminded how to play and/or look at the first list of quotations again go HERE.

The second list of quotations is HERE

Please feel free to use any of the prompts from any one of the three lists at any time.

As this is my last list of quotations, and the quotations are from songs, I thought it might be fun to link you to performances of the songs in question. If you click on the title/band name it should link you to a youtube video. I tried, whenever possible, to make it an actual concert performance by the original artist(s). I hope looking at the unfortunate fashion choices is as much fun for you as it was for me! *g*

Thank you and I hope you’ve had fun. The challenge will remain open until the end of June.

Quotations from Songs of the 1970s

I keep your picture upon the wall
It hides a nasty stain that's lyin' there
So don't you ask me to give it back
I know you know it doesn't mean that much to me. I’m Not in Love – 10cc

Brand new dandy

You’re upstairs with the boyfriend while I’m left here to listen.
I hear you calling his name, I hear the stutter of ignition.
I could hear you whispering as I crept by your door.

Well if we can help you we will,
You’re looking tired and ill.
As I count backwards
Your eyes become heavier still. Entangled -- Genesis

Maybe you’ll get a replacement
There’s plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain’t got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – Elton John

These are the seasons of emotion
And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion-
I see the torch we all must hold. The Rain Song – Led Zeppelin

Ooh you're the best friend that i ever had
I've been with you such a long time
You're my sunshine and i want you to know
That my feelings are true. You’re My Best Friend -- Queen

Sometimes I’m sexy, move like a stud
Kicking the stall all night
Sometimes I’m so shy, got to be worked on
Don’t have no bark or bite, alright. Bitch – Rolling Stones

Loneliness is a crowded room
Full of open hearts turned to stone. Dance Away – Roxy Music

And it won't even show
And no-one will know
One little wave
To say you'll behave. Everyday -- Slade

To live for someone else you can't just take. Wild Wild Angels -- Smokie

I’d beg for some forgiveness
But begging’s not my business. Up the Junction -- Squeeze

I’m reaching out for something
Touching nothing’s all I ever do. Ballroom Blitz -- Sweet

I wasn’t born so much as I fell out
Nobody seemed to notice me
We had a hedge back home in the suburbs

I first felt a fist, and then a kick
I could now smell their breath
They smelt of pubs and wormwood scrubs
And too many right wing meetings. Down in the Tube Station at Midnight – The Jam

You think that life's a vacation
And you've no inclination
To dust away the cobwebs of your mind.
Now it's time for confrontation
And I'm tired of being patient,

No one knows what its like
To be the bad man

Erm, you're not trying to tell me something, do you? *raises eyebrow* It's nice you put 2 of my fav songs in there but I still can't come up with anything to write. Sorry. But then again there is still time... *goes to watch some more Smokie vids*

Nope, no plot, smut or other bunnies anywhere in sight. I just can't sit down and try to write - won't work. It either pops into my head and I have to write it or not. Right now it's or not.

yay, you provided me with an absolutely brilliant displacement activity just when I was taking time out from my all-day ascent of Laundry Mountain, thank you! And some fabulous lyrics here, never mind the awesome performances of the likes of the Sweet and TREx ooh and Squeeze and The Jam and OOH the Clash! So many good possibilities here *eyes pokey stick suspiciously puts on thinking cap falls asleep at the base of Laundry Mountain *
