*Flexes pokey stick o' doom*
I just wanted to remind you that there are now only EIGHT days left in the Discovered Out of Context challenge.
To those of you who have already posted a story, thank you! Of course, if you feel moved to write another story, we will not stand in your way. *g*
PLEASE bear in mind, that even IF a prompt has already been used, you are still welcome to use the same prompt.
If you would like to be reminded how to play and/or look at the first list of quotations again go HERE. The second list is HERE and the third list is HERE.
On a personal note, I just wanted to thank all of you for being so nice to a newb and again, thanks for playing!

possible fic
Date: 2008-06-25 04:40 pm (UTC)I'm in something of a dilemma here. I have a fic which I was already working on when you came up with the third list of quotes, and one of them fits rather well. Only trouble is I'm not sure if the fic itself is suitable and I think it needs a good beta regardless. And since
It's a George Gently crossover, set in 1963 so it involves only a young Ray Doyle and no Bodie at all... and it's also maybe a bit violent. (the quote is the T Rex one about blood and tears, just to give you some idea...)
I'm not being deliberately obtuse here, honest - I really have no way of judging my own stuff. I can say it is nothing like the other piece I posted, which practically wrote itself!

Date: 2008-06-25 04:50 pm (UTC)Hello!
I'm just the guest challenger around here, but I *think* you'd be fine to post that story. I think the only requirement is that at least one of the Pros lads should be in there somewhere, so if Doyle is in there you should be all right.
Re: possible fic
Date: 2008-06-25 05:06 pm (UTC)As far as being suitable for a challenge goes, well, generally the only rules are the ones about posting with trailers/lj-cuts etc - as far as the actual stories, anything goes really - as long as it's Pros! - and as long as it's not pure het. We can stretch to gen if we have to (my co-mod is much kinder than I am *g*) but we're really not het-y over here.
Violence etc is fine, it's up to you whether you give a warning for it in the trailer, that's not compulsory. There's no warning for violence in real life, and not much at the movies/on tv - and we're Pros fans, for godsake, it's hardly violence-free! - so I reckon people should be able to cope with coming across it in fic without having the vapours... *is mean* *g* If you want to be kinder than I am, use the trailer to let people know.
Beta-wise... if you throw it my way via email (of course!) I'll see if I've got time to have a quick look-through tonight, once I've finished marking for the day (3 scripts to go - whoohoo!) *g*
Yeay fic! And a George Gently crossover, too... (though sighs for no Bodie...)
