Oh blimey, I’m cheating again!

This is a drabble that has been lingering on my hard drive for longer than I care to remember and has never seen the light of day. There’s nothing Christmassy about it, other than the fact that it comes from me to you with the compliments of the season.

‘ang abaht, though... Supposing I ask you to picture an East End pub, where the Christmas Eve festivities are in full swing? And a couple of CI5 agents have gone there for a quiet Christmas drink... There, now it is a Christmas fic! *g*

When she walked in every head in the place turned, and Doyle stared just like everybody else.

She was stunning, vivacious, expensively dressed and totally out of place in an East End pub like this.

With a sinking heart he realised that she personified what he'd always thought of as 'Bodie's Type'. He turned to where his partner was sitting and watched Bodie cast a cursory glance at the woman before settling his gaze, and a contented smile, firmly upon him.

'Bodie's Type' she may well have been once upon a time. But now it seemed that time was past.

Yeah, you bet! *g* Thank you! Definitely festive--with the scene set as it was. I can just see it, too....

'Bodie's Type' she may well have been once upon a time. But now it seemed that time was past.

And thank God for that! In a short space of time you've managed to place me right there in the pub with Doyle, keeping an eye on what is *his*.... Very nice!

Yay! Bodie's definitely only got one type now - and aren't we glad about it? *g*

Thanks for this - lovely cheery-up material when I've got to slog off to work in a mo. :)

Now that's my Bodie! Doyle firmly in his gaze. Good!

Thanks. I always appreciate a 'story' fully told in a drabble, and you've one that here. It's an example of how drabbles should be done.

Smashing! And totally holiday-season-y - is this not the time for odd people dressed to the nines and in vivacious mood to drop unexpectedly into East End pubs?

Does a lovely job of capturing a whole story in a moment; she was Bodie's type once all right ... but not any more. Happy glow for Doyle, and for us! Thank you!

Hehe, seems like there's only one "Bodie's Type" and he's got curly hair and green eyes. Good taste has our Bodie *nods* Thanks for posting this! *takes sneak peek at your HD to see if there are more hidden treasures*

Hee! It has certainly put a smile on my face, this. Thank goodness (for Doyle and for us) that Bodie's taste has changed. For the better. *g*

The repetition of the "Bodie's type" phrase really works nicely. *g*

Thank you!

Well we all know Bodie's type involves curly hair and slender thighs... *g*

Thanks, that was a lovely insight (especially into Doyle's mind).

Aw! I like this. You might even want to reuse this some day as the tag end of a much longer fic. It sums up neatly that moment when you realize that what you've got is real, and lasting.

So nice to see that Bodie has realized what his real type is. *g*

Very late but catching up

I enjoyed this drabble a lot. I thought it worked well and managed to capture the past and how things have changed very effectively in so few words.
