Ah November - grey skies, bare trees, a chilly wind and... getting ready for the [livejournal.com profile] discoveredinalj Christmas-Winter-Solstice-General-Joy Challenge! Hurrah!

This year it's all about the giggles - those early morning giggles when the bed is warm, and sleep is close, but there's something heavy lying across your feet, when all of a sudden you realise that Father Christmas has been! It's about the joy and the gleeful squeals that come from things that are...

Discovered in a Christmas Stocking!

It's about the giggles that come when you find your favourite Star Wars figure or My Friend Flicka book, a new packet of Felt Tip Pens and at the very bottom, right in the toe, your very own satsuma. The excitement of showing your mum and dad, who are strangely bleary-eyed, just how the blue plastic gyrocopter works, of seeing that Santa did indeed eat the mince pie you left him - and drink the glass of brandy - and of fighting with your brother because you like his Matchbox car better than yours, and he wants your Sindy doll...

Of course it's even more about the giggles in our new banner, made this year rather gorgeously by [livejournal.com profile] magenta_blue (and the icon - hasn't she done a brill job? Thank you, M, for all your help!), because here in our Christmas stocking we've got Bodie, and Doyle, all of CI5 - and, rather frighteningly, George Cowley in a Santa suit... *g*

If you'd like to participate this year, then all you need to do is:
1) choose a day from the calendar below, which will be your day for you to post to [livejournal.com profile] discoveredinalj whenever and whatever you want
2) comment below to let us know which day you'd like - and I'll reserve it for you using your icon
3) post something Pros-y on your day! It doesn't have to be Christmas-y at all, although at this time of year where Bodie and Doyle live (and live eternally), people throughout history have used the long cold nights as an excuse to burn fires, make light, and be happy, and tradition is, after all, good fun... *g*

If you've not played before, here's Discovered in the Brandy Butter's first post, for you to get an idea of how it all works - click on any of the icons in the calendar and they'll take you to a Pros-y Christmas-y post. (And there are more examples via the banner links in the User Info page)

Your post could be inspired by [livejournal.com profile] magenta_blue's banner, by an icon on the calendar, or it could just be a general present offered to any Pros fan passing through the comm. It could even be inspired by the prompt that appears in the square for the day you chose - your very own stocking filler from Pros-y times! And if you're not sure what Simon is, or what Raw Power looked like, click on the link to find out...

As usual - I think four times is usual now, isn't it? *g* - we'd like to fill the whole calendar with Pros-y goodness, so that there's always at least one Pros-y post in your flist for every day in December and right up to the last day of Christmas - 6th January. We've done it every year so far - it'd be ace if we could do it again!

It doesn't have to be fic that's posted either (though that's always brill, obviously), it could be art, or vids, or icons or other graphics of course, but it could also be something completely different. Feel like chatting about what the lads might do at Christmas? Use your day to post a discussion about it! Want to recommend a fic for each of the twelve days of Christmas? Post on your day! Pros-y computer-generated jigsaws? CI5-flavoured Christmas cake - hmmn, what would be in that? Never been sure what to do with the photograph you took of the lads naked at the Christmas party... okay, that might just be my wishful thinking, but you get the idea... *g*

As ever, we're happy to post for you, if you'd rather not do it yourself for any reason (such as Christmas being a hugely busy time for many people, or if you don't have a livejournal account) And if you'd like to offer "extra content" that can be slotted into days nobody has claimed that would be gratefully received as well! Please contact me via the email address on the User Info page.

Please sign up as soon as possible (so that we can organise for whatever days appear to be empty etc) but feel free to sign up any time the comm is running – if you're suddenly inspired on 16th December to post on the 17th, and it's still an empty day, then comment below and go for it! Oh, except that the 25th is already full of Christmas-y goodness… sorry! And if there are spaces going free and we're getting closer to the date, but you've already claimed one day -feel free to claim a second day!

To sign up, please comment below with the date/s you would like to post or have your work/creation posted. We will then snag your icon to block off those day/s for you on the calendar. Then all you need to do is post on that day! And the icons on the calendar will then also become links to your post!

So… would anyone like to start filling our stocking? *g*
