Discovered in a Haunting...
Oct. 7th, 2010 11:07 pm
It's that time of year again - the nights draw in, the breeze rustles leaves and scratches at our windows... It's October - and the night at the end of the month is of course All Hallow's Eve. There is even extra spookiness this year, because October 31st is the end of Daylight Savings here - an hour lost between Midnight and Non-existence, and all manner of things lurk in times that never were...
So it seemed a good opportunity to think about things that haunt us - or haunt the lads, at least... *g* It could be anything - literal ghosts and goblins and things that go grrr in the night, their past, each other's past, futures that still may never have been, things that should never have been said... that little noise that they thought was coming from behind the fridge... *g*
If you would like to join in, it would be lovely if you'd comment to let us know, or else simply post your story/vid/art/review/rambling/wondering/puzzling - anything at all that you've been inspired to by the idea of the lads and a-haunting - anytime up until midnight on the 31st of October in your part of the world (even if you pop over to Pago Pago to do it... *g*). Instructions on how to post/use the trailer etc are on the User Info page - and do feel free to ask if you're not sure about anything.
There are also prompts for anyone who'd like them - just ask in a comment below... Happy October... *g*

Date: 2010-10-07 10:46 pm (UTC)SOME, too fragile for winter winds,
The thoughtful grave encloses,—
Tenderly tucking them in from frost
Before their feet are cold.
Never the treasures in her nest
The cautious grave exposes,
Building where schoolboy dare not look
And sportsman is not bold.
This covert have all the children
Early aged, and often cold,—
Sparrows unnoticed by the Father;
Lambs for whom time had not a fold.

“I am convinced that it is not the fear of death, of our lives ending that haunts our sleep so much as the fear... that as far as the world is concerned, we might as well never have lived.”
ETA - and sorry for bad coding! *g*
ETA - which is apparently something I should not be trying to do before a second cup of coffee... *headdesk*

Date: 2010-10-11 06:27 am (UTC)Do you know The Hatstand's transcript page (http://hatstand.slashcity.net/eps.html) yet? Ever so good for when you want to check what happened in an ep - presuming you can remember which ep it's all in, of course! *g* There's some really good Writer's Resources at the Hatstand site (http://hatstand.slashcity.net/) as well, if you've not found them yet (scroll down the page). Oh, and a list of people happy to beta and/or Brit check over on the user info page at
