Discovered in the Fairylights - A couple of drabbles...

I'm afraid that my offerings for today aren't in the least bit Christmassy, but I hope you like them anyway.

First up, a couple of drabbles:



Chancing His Arm


"Chancing your arm a bit there, Bodie."

"Eh?"

"Well, we're all used to you, aren't we. I don't reckon Doyle's the sort who goes in for all that touchy-feely stuff though. You might end up with his fist in your face."

"Yeah, you could be right. See you, Murph."

Some time later...

"Murphy reckons I grope you too much."

"Well, you do."

"Weren't complaining ten minutes ago, were you."

"That's cos I was groping you."

"That's true. My turn now then."

"Bloody insatiable, you are."

"Reckon Murph was right then. Maybe I should try groping him."

"Don't you dare. C'mere..."

So Close


"Home, James, and don't spare the horses."

Biting back his customary sharp retort, Doyle turned to study the man sprawled in the passenger seat. Eyes closed, head back, seemingly without a care in the world; only the frown lines between Bodie's eyes and the rhythmic clenching of his jaw revealed his inner torment.

Doyle had come so close to losing him today. Another inch to the left and... He'd laugh it off, of course. Doyle was used to that. But later, when they were blanketed in darkness and spooned together in his bed, Bodie would talk and Doyle would listen.

Back from technological-disaster LJ-exile just in time, it seems! I'm just jumping around the page finding all these things that have appeared while I was stuck in the wilderness. These are lovely, both of them - could hardly be more different in mood, though! Together through thick and thin, these lads ::hugs all round::
