"Appealing to my better nature won't work, Bodie. I happen not to have one."
"No sir," 3.7 agreed dutifully.
"What I do have, however," his Controller continued, "is an instruction to cut costs in the coming year, in which case..."
He scribbled his initials at the foot of a chit and handed it to Bodie. "It's a waste of resources having this place standing empty, though what the likes of you and Doyle will do with a residence in Knightsbridge..."
"I'm sure we'll manage, sir."

Wondering
Listening to him sleeping starts me wondering.
Wondering at the little snuffles and hitches of breath as his dreams almost get the better of him. Things that would put me right off if it was a bird in my bed. It's different with him, though.
And when did I start to think that snoring was sexy? Not just any snoring though, is it? His snoring.
Then there's that sort of sigh he makes when he stretches, opens his eyes and looks at me.
Wonder if he knows that I lie awake watching him. Listening.
I reckon that maybe he does...
