It's been a while since I posted a challenge here at
discoveredinalj, mostly because we're waiting for a Guest Challenger to prepare a little something (*g*) and partly because it's been quite quiet lately, writing-wise. I'm guessing that alot of people are working on their Big Bang stories, and of course there's lots of general "real life" busy-ness around too. But this morning I'm feeling inspired by some of the old posts over at
the_safehouse, and so I thought we might have a go at a wee challenge to end the month (and maybe even start the new one!).
This challenge is in homage to the very first fic challenge over at The Safehouse, set way back in April 2004 by
phantomas who was the comm mod back then. It went like this:
What did the Lads think the first time they met?
Either from Doyle’s pov or from Bodie’s or both.
from drabble length - 100 words - to novel length if you are so inclined :)
There were three or four drabbles posted in response to the challenge (and then people started posting other fic as well, and bam! there were Pros stories up on lj! *g*) - shall we see if we can manage to equal if not pass that? We'd just need four posts... *g* There's so much scope for first meetings too - as per these posts over at
ci5hq (if anyone's needing extra inspiration... *g*) If anyone would like a prompt, then do comment to request one below, and you will be given a place of meeting to get those ideas ticking over...
So - posting any time, any length, and any format - a drabble or a story or artwork or... anything you can think of - until the next challenge opens (and don't forget to use a trailer instead of a header, if you need to use either!)... What did the Lads think the first time they met?

Date: 2011-06-14 06:52 am (UTC)Oop, sorry - and the rest of your answer... *g* Yes, please do play!
If you take a look at the User Info page you'll find the challenge/posting guidelines. In order to avoid spoiling people for stories, but to provide the info for people who do want it, we use a "trailer" system instead of a "header" - just copy and paste the story information at the end of your story, under the cut rather than at the beginning. Again, it's all on the User Info page! If you read some of the other stories posted for challenges here at the comm, you'll see what I mean too...
Oh, and previous challenges are all archived via the User Info page, if you want to see what's been written before too (and some brilliant fic) - just click on the banners for the challenges and it'll take you to the tag page for them. There are a few that made it as far as "Dialj Bound" zines too - downloadable as pdfs if you want the whole thing to read - also on the User Info page... *g*

Date: 2011-06-15 07:17 pm (UTC)I stayed up late last night working on it. A bad idea, as I needed to be alert this morning, but I had fun. *rubs hands together in glee* :D
I did glance through the user info but I'm going to have to read it in depth because most of it didn't register with me the other night. Thanks very much for the information and for keeping the challenge open longer! :D
