Ah, Valentine's Day is over for another year, and I hope everyone's world was filled with all the romance and true love that they could wish for - at least via the Challenge stories and our B/D (whose
existence together I reckon is romance in itself...). Thank you to everyone who posted stories - and I see there's another one inspired by the challenge over at ProsLib, so thank you to that author too!
A quick mod-ly reminder to people - please don't post past the stated Challenge deadline, even if there doesn't seem to be anything else going on. We do use the deadlines for various reasons at different times - sometimes it's because there's another challenge coming up very quickly, and
empty_mirrors and I have to co-ordinate the various bits and bobs that go into organising that, and other times (like this time) it's just because we set a deadline, a lot of people worked really hard to keep it, and it's not fair on them if others just post at will. You're absolutely welcome to post stories written for these challenges anywhere you like if you miss a deadline - the idea is to be inspired to write and create, so that other people can enjoy that where ever it might be posted (though of course we like you here too... *g*).
One of the very few other rules we have is
please don't include ANY story information above the story, or outside an lj-cut. I know this might seem backwards to alot of people, but there's a big and long tradition in Pros fandom of not spoiling people for stories, and there are a lot of people who
hate being spoilered, and that's why we decided to use trailers instead of headers. People who
want warnings know where to look for them, and people who don't want them aren't spoilered - it's consideration for everyone. (And also, I did remind everyone about this in the Challenge post itself, this time...)
Last one of these - it'd be great if people
are posting to the comm, if they'd post the whole story rather than just a link to their own ljs. I know it's nice to keep comments together etc, but as people have said about
The Great ProsWatch over at
the_safehouse, linking like that means that comments and thoughts end up scattered over everyone's personal ljs, and it all becomes less of a community thing. It can put shyer people off commenting and joining in, which would be a real shame too, cos I love the Pros comms as they are...
Finally - an ungrumpy bit (our first modly grump ever! I'm blaming all that pink...) - don't forget to send your stories to ProsLib (email in the Challenge Post below), and to post them up at Automatic Hatstand for archiving! They'll all stay here in Dialj of course, but it's nice to have them at the archives as well. *g*
And now, a bit of a breather before our next challenge, but do keep an eye out...
