[identity profile] byslantedlight.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] discoveredinalj

It's not actually the solstice today - the sun's at its lowest point tomorrow this year - but we're definitely at the point of the longest nights and the shortest days. Today is also dark here so far, because the sun is covered by murky grey clouds...

Worst of all - I have no long Pros story to go with the longest nights this year, waaaah! There seems to have been something about 2011 where everything I've written has been short-short-short - and also written at the last minute. So I've decided, today, to go with the flow...

I will write a wee Pros ficlet today for anyone who'd like one, and post them as we go through the 21st December, like wee Pros-y snowflakes falling... (aaaaah - or little skinny raindrops, because today is really far more traditional Pros-y weather!) So if you'd like a Christmas-y Pros-y story (or a non-Christmas-y one, come to that, or a solstice-y one, or just a wintery one) then comment below with a request and a wee prompt - what would you like to see your lads doing? Surviving the longest night? Cursing the shortest day - or embracing it? Christmas breakfast? Opening presents? Christmas baubles or London shopping or the saddest tree left in the supermarket? There will be fic for all comers - all you have to do, today, is ask... *g*

(A little more inspiration, should anyone need it... *g*)

Ooh, can I have a Christmas fic please? Hmmm, how about this - Bodie and Doyle making up on Christmas morning after an argument. Go! :D

Triggered by an item on the radio I've just been looking up something re The Third Man - one of my very favourite films - and thought, yes, it kind of ties in with Bodie and Doyle, so anything to do with The Third Man, please......

Lovely image, too.

Cool! Hmm. I would like snow at night (Solstice or Christmas Eve or Christmas--take your pick!), in a car park, with new discovery hand holding. *g* Okay?

Snowman please! Either one of the lads as one, like standing outside for as long as it takes, or building one, or destroying...ah well, whatever...
(I´m greedy, just want more of the lads all the time....*g*)

How about the lads on a surveillance Christmas eve sharing stories of their favorite, or not so favorite, Christmas past.

Gosh, LJ's reformed itself! *boggle*

If you have time to do a fic for me, how about one where the shortest day seems long to the lads, and the longest night seems short?

Partner worry optional, but encouraged. *g*

Doyle, Bodie, coffee, gen
Serious or silly, you decide
a little talk or a spill or a prank....
And if you don't have time to write it I may reclaim this prompt/rough idea.
What a clever idea you had to try this. Thanks! <3

You did an amazing job writing so much in one day! Of course I'd love to read what you'd write for my prompt. Thanks so much. ♥ But if it doesn't work out, please don't feel bad.

Am I too late?

I've only just seen this so don't worry if you're written out, but if you do feel like writing more could I have the lads walking in Hyde park on a frosty winters morning?

Ladyhawke2 (late to every party...)

Don't have time to post to each story you wrote, but I have to take a minute to tell you that I loved them all! I love the way you write!
Thanks for doing this - a great idea! Now take a deep breath and head off to bed!
