Let Them Eat Cake

Gunfire.

Behind their tank-like car, Bodie held his gun muzzle-up. “Could’ve really gone for that chocolate cake.”

Betty’s birthday: and she was sharing.

Doyle frowned. “It’ll keep!”

“Anson’ll get it.”

Bodie and Doyle lunged up at the same time, firing; ducked back before the return volley.

“All that chocolate...”

Bullets thudded into the car.

“Then let’s finish this!”

Bodie’s mouth hardened. “Right. Cover me.”

He lunged from cover, running low, firing all the way.

Doyle threw down a rain of cover fire.

But it wasn’t bloody enough.

Doyle baked a huge double-chocolate cake.

Even in hospital, Bodie ate too much.

I really like it when people add bits about B&D preparing or enjoying food to their fics for some reason. :D I guess it's cause I truly feel that one of the ways to Bodie's heart is through his stomach. lol
