Discovered On A Silent Night- Christmas Card 2014

Sorry in advance if this is posted wrongly or doesn't work in some way... LJ is still mostly a mystery to me!
Since I finished my Big Bang stuff I've had it in the back of my mind that I *must* do a Christmas card- however it proved more difficult than I'd previously imagined as the anniversary of Lew's death came upon us...
I had collected a whole pile of festive inspiration and material to work with, but in the end I didn't really use any of it and this kind of transpired almost by accident. I had put my original theme on hold (and keeping it under my hat in case I *do* manage to make something of it!) and gone for an altogether more grim sort of 'Avenging Angel' motive instead, but in the event, I scrapped most of my painstakingly-prepared 'bits' as nothing seemed to be working. I gave Lew a little spin, and Hey-Presto! He had Doyle in a clinch! Manna made in heaven...(*g*)

Heh. Well, Bodie is always happiest when he has Doyle in a clinch, I suspect.*g* This is beautiful! I love the colors, the composition, and the words that fit them so very well--Gighters, Guardians, Protectors, Trust, Loyalty. It's cool how the black-and-white Bodie goes so vey well with the in-color Doyle. Oh, basically, it's gorgeous. *g* Thank you!

You certainly did manage to post successfully - and how lovely this is. I would honestly not know that it came about as the result of a whole series of rethinks and alterations and casting away.

Love all the words, but am now fixated, squinting, on the one I can't quite make out - seems to end 'alty'. Loyalty, by any chance?

Ah, well, there's Loyalty, Fealty, Friends, (CI5) Trust, Guardians, Protectors, Fighters and Lovers- not *necessarily* of each other ;-) Glad you like...yeah, I did have a mental block when it came to being creative....xx

Oh I love what you've done here! The composition is excellent and all the elements come together beautifully. I love that you've captured an illuminated manuscript 'feel'. Great work! :D

Oh, thanks very much! I did have a lot more 'illuminated manuscript-iness' as well, but the canvas is just never big enough....*g* I photographed some lovely local church angels that I wanted to use too- but they sadly got culled. Next time hopefully...

I'm more going with the feeling of this than anything specific, but I like it, especially the way the images meld together, Bodie and Doyle and all the other pieces.
