Discovered in a Christmas Card -3rd January

May I present to you - two gorgeous pictures by loxleyprince, who has apparently been snowed on in her part of the world, so in honour of her second pic, I shall think of our lads shooshing along the roads around her! *g*

This picture was for lucky FrancisKerst, and now shared with everyone here at Discoveredinalj.

And how fab is this one? The lads all cosy in their jumpers, and oh for the way Doyle's holding his skiis, all confidence and competence... and I suspect some people will rather like Bodie's direct stare and the way he's stroking his gloves on. *g*

I know it's late, but I was thinking that if we do it in the comments we won't disturb our post-er tomorrow - would anyone like to play drabbles or mini-round-robin in the comments here? (I have one bugger of a work doc to finish, and I desperately need something lovely to think about, like our lads in the snow! I reckon I can manage a sentence at at time if other people help out... *g*)

And I know - this was not the Dialj-post-er that you were looking for. Today's post-er has not appeared yet, and as she went AWOL from her last calendar day, and hasn't replied to any of my attempts to remind her/check everything's okay, I'm taking the liberty of making a just-in-case post this time! She still has an hour and three quarters to slide in, and she may well be planning to do so, but I get nervy about people at this stage of the night, so... hope she doesn't mind/is happy to share! And this way, we get the lads in friends lists for the day, as promised by the comm.

Bodie was aware of Doyle behind him, skiis hanging nonchalantly over his shoulders, staring off into the distance as the instructor described the day's slopes. He pulled his gloves on, determined to appear just as casual, but he kept his eyes and his ears on the instructor anyway. How the hell Doyle had talked him into this...

Doyle on the otherhand, was miles away. His thoughts were on things other than skis and slopes, but more around open fires and bear skin rugs. Knowing in the back of his mind that he should be paying more attention to the here and now, he managed to keep these thoughts from his face and more importantly, from his ever-vigilant partner......

Trouble is, Bodie wasn't being very vigilant right now - or at least not vigilant of Doyle, and that was not on. What was wrong with him, anyway? Doyle twisted slightly, just stretching his spine, that's all, and his skiis thudded gently into Bodie's parka-padded neck.

"Oy! Mind the goods." Bodie wasn't about to let Doyle in on his thoughts. No; with Doyle, that way lay endless interrogation. Once a copper, always a copper.

With that troubling thought,Bodie turned and followed Doyle as he trudged through the snow. The slopes didn't look too bad, but it had begun to snow again.

Doyle jumped onto the ski lift, shifting to let Bodie slide in beside him. He made sure their legs were pressed together from hip to knee for the entire ride up the mountainside.

Then he leaned over, put his lips to Bodie's ear, and, low-voiced, even though there was no one around to hear, he began to tell him exactly what they were going to do apres ski. He could tell the moment he'd won Bodie's attention, he could tell the exact moment.

It was at the top of the ski lift, when Bodie clamped his arm firmly across the seat to prevent Doyle jumping off, and took them right back down to the hotel again.

Bodie was aware of Doyle beside him, suddenly glaring at him for their lost hour of skiing. He grinned, leaned over, and started to tell him exactly what they were going to do pre-ski - and probably, he thought cheerfully instead of ski. He remembered now exactly how Doyle had talked him into this.

The End!

(I thought I might wrap this one up since it seemed to have slid to a stop! *g*)

Yes, my gift postcard is absolutely gorgeous and I can't thank [Unknown site tag] enough for giving it to me.

I intended to scan all my beautiful postcards of this year to post them to my LJ but I currently have some technical issues with my printer; this is also why I had to order mines from a commercial provider (using my personal design), which was much longer to sent them back to me than I expected so the posting was much delayed. I hope they have been now delivered to their respective addressees.

The only person who can edit a comment is the author of the comment I'm afraid, but I can try and copy your sentence with the tag working, so people can see who you meant here:

I got your letter, postcard and story today at last! I don't know whether it's the first you sent or a second one for I am unable to read the date on the envelope. But still many, many thanks for the marvelous gift. I hope it will give me an incentive to write the last chapter of my no-end B/C story.
