So,
magenta_blue completely nailed the first challenge of Discovered in 1977 by remembering that:
"…there is in existence a picture of myself as a particularly grumpy toddler at a Silver Jubilee street party with a Union Jack plastic hat strapped to my head. So I guess there were a ton of impromptu street parties on that day - 7 June, lots of road closures, people dragging their paste tables and chairs outside to join in, flag waving, stereos turned up full blast and aimed towards the front windows..."
Yes - 7th June 1977 was the Queen's Silver Jubilee, and somewhere, in the midst of it all, were Bodie, Doyle, CI5, and one grumpy toddler…
"…watching in bemusement as a Silver Capri screeches to a halt in front of the table of food, and two equally grumpy men jump out and continue the chase on foot - Bodie stopping just long enough to snag a sausage roll and wink…"
Or maybe they left town, or holed up indoors somewhere to get away from all the fuss and fury? Now what could two grown men do all day, on their own, in a small flat in London..?
This month's Discovered In 1977 challenge is to come up with some connection between the lads and the Queen's Silver Jubilee - and just to make it a bit more interesting, when you sign up below to join in, you'll be assigned an object that might have been seen on the day itself to include in your creation…
Feel like playing? Comment below to receive your "object", and then simply post your creation in the week 13th - 20th June!
