I would like to hear your opinion or first thought/feeling about the atmosphere of that picture.

Or what is Bodie or Doyle saying? What has happened ?  Or what else is springing to your mind ?




I was playing with this image and asked two friends for help about the title. It turned out, we have got two and a half different opinions about the lad's mood there.  Deeply interesting.....

So, the idea was born to ask here to get even more interesting answers :-)

I love posts like this, posts which make you think. But I'm sorry I won't be able to help you because I'm too busy just admiring them! It looks a little bit as if Doyle's comforting Bodie.... or is it the other way round? Or is Bodie like a child being reprimanded by his mother/father?

It's odd, isn't it ? It could be anything and both ways, I totally agree with you. dramatic, romantic, sad. The longer you are looking at their faces the more different is the story about them.
Being reprimanded is a new aspect.

To me it looks like Lewis is holding a coin and Martin has to guess as to who enters the water first. My brain won't let me think right at this moment as to a caption but i do love this image of the lads.

Yeah, Bodie's or Lewis' hand looks like a fist. Good suggestion it's a coin inside.

My first thought was that Doyle is telling Bodie some bad news, and is trying to comfort him as much as possible.

Maybe... "Cowley is dead." or something like that.

Like I thought, everything could has happened, but how do the swimsuits fit in that news ? Did Doyle loose Cowley in the water ? Cruel story, isn't it ?
But yeah, I could see bad news as well.

My first thought was similar to shooting2kill ... Doyle is comforting Bodie. It stands out to me that Doyle is kneeling/crouching down to be at eye level with Bodie, just to add to that level of comfort.
It's a wonderful image. :)

I was more feeling the other way round, because of their face expressions. I saw more Doyle at the recieving end of comforting.

Whatever it is, it's definitively serious, I agree.
This pic was taken at a charity event, including people around. It was my first try to edit a photo like that.

To me it looks like Bodie's trying to understand what Doyle's saying to him, but he just doesn't get it. Except... that was my first thought, and what I typed in here hours ago (whoops, without pressing post *headdesk*). But now I look at it and I think maybe Bodie's trying to explain something and Doyle's got his puzzled face on... *g*

Maybe they're both trying to work out why Cowley's sent them across the sea to a deserted island, and then appears to have stranded them there with nothing but a week's worth of provisions and a note reading simply Sort yourselves out! *g*

He doesn't get it, whoever *he* is - yes, that fits and I like it. It doesn't happen very often, our lads being slow-witted, but I enjoy that :-) Anytime!

Same thing with *sort yourself out* - starting with anger and ending in love ;-)

My first thought was that Bodie has just done something dangerous, probably to help Doyle. Doyle is saying, "How could you take a risk like that, you idiot?" and Bodie is thinking "How could I not?" (Kind of a "shoot from the door" moment in reverse.) I don't know what Bodie is doing with his hand in that scenario, though.

And Bodie's going to take Doyle's hand to calm his partner down. " I am good at that, and knew exactly what to do." What he didn't dare to say 'Couldn't risk to lose you'

Absolute first thought upon looking at the picture was - "NO - there's one where they really are actually holding hands?!" and my heart racing. Then i saw that no, no actual holding.

Second thought, since I was focused on hands, was that it looks like Bodie is doing the motorcycle thing with his hand - is it accelerating that you do like that? As though he and Doyle are discussing their last ride in depth.

I like the way they are connecting - all focus on each other. My dirty mind supplied - I bet Doyle's eyes were stuck on that particular region there, and Bodie was reminding him, hey! eyes up! ;)

I've enjoyed reading everyone's responses and I agree that whatever it is, it's serious but not necessarily bad. Wish I could come up with something more than that but the picture is lovely.
