So here we are, 31 May – closing out the end of the month, and the end of another bit of 2020 as well.

(Not to mention, the 31st day. So already beyond the "30 days." :D)

I had originally thought to mark the milestone by writing a short fic.

: stared at screen for several days :
: side-eyed BB as well :

But work and life both conspired to get in the way.

But wait! There could be a puzzle! And I now have semi-professional instructions on how to make one.
Notes:

George Cowley (12)
Raymond Doyle (12)
Edward Woodward (14) / Harry Malone (11)
William Bodie (12)
Ken Blake (8) / Kenneth Bulmer (13)
Enrico Krivas (12)

Phrases
You'll save me
It's not a toy, Bodie
tall handsome and engagingly modest
And that was that.
(This may appear later. We'll see.)

But, wait – there's reccing! Reccing is always a good thing. And it gives me an excuse to reread some favorites oh, look over there – shiny fic

So, good. We're gonna rec something. Now – what to rec?

Well, the end of the month, so... stories about endings for our lads. Me being me, that translates to death fics where the survivor comes to a more-or-less happy resolution. There's Decrescendo (aka, The Story I Want to Write When I Grow Up), where Doyle sorts out a number of things about Bodie. In The Same River, Doyle loses Bodie and comes to a heartbreaking realization. And in Buen Camino, Bodie, which I discovered when it was recommended earlier this month, Bodie doesn't start in the right place but gets there after taking a long walk.

But why head off on a downer? It's the end of the month, not the end of the world.

So – here are some general recs, from things I've loved:

Of Tethered Goats and Tigers - with one of my favorite Pros lines ever. Read it, and you'll know which one I'm talking about. ;-)

The Third Friday of October - it takes a LONG time, and LOTS of comforting hurt, but they do get there in the end. Together.

Gone with the Pixies, Verlaine plays with a fandom trope and actually makes it work (for once). The concept made me laugh. :D

Hope you enjoy!

Thank you for the recs. (The links for Decrescendo and Buon Camino both point back to the LiveJournal page the reader is viewing, though.)
