Discovered In A Sketchbook: September 1977, by Crimson

Ah, the end of August - yellowed fields, rolls of hay, and tractors driving at 10mph along every single road you need to drive down! Also the first lashings of wind and rain (*ducks everything thrown at me from within UK*), the odd swirl of leaves wondering if it might be Autumn yet, and those caught-breath moments of new pens and pencils and fresh beginnings - or at least the end of old ones, perhaps…

For September's challenge we lured one of our wonderful Pros artists to pick up a pencil and draw for us, and the rather… interesting result is under the cut (yes, she knows what we like to do with our imaginations… *g*)

As usual, it'd be nice if you'd comment below, if you'd like to take part, just so we have an idea of whether anyone's playing or not. And for anyone who would like a bit extra inspiration, if you request a prompt, then you will be assigned a particular part of the… picture to include as a little side-focus in your creation!

Posting, as usual for the Discovered in 1977 challenges, between 13th - 20th September, please! So… anyone like to play this month…?

Oh... I think I may finally have found a purpose for a certain unfinished story you beta'd for me several months ago! I was never really all that happy with it, which is why I didn't post it ultimately.

But I think this picture is just the inspiration I need to finish it properly.

Thanks--I'm glad it's not too late! Crimson's drawing has given me an idea and I'd like to give it a try when I get home from ZCon. :-)

I just hope I can do your drawing justice. :-) Hope you don't mind that I've "friended" you. I don't post much and tend to lurk mostly, just to warn you. :-) And tend to get distracted by RL a whole lot and disappear for long periods. :-/ But I'd love to see more of your art sometime. :-)

I have just seen this and friended you back. Having been away from LJ and fandom for the last few months due to RL, I know this only too well. I'm going to try not to lurk, now I am back, but I lapse sometimes. ;/
